The forum description that mentions Harley bashing was meant to be tongue-in-cheek.
All of this is part of a larger issue of intolerance and disrespect that's starting to permeate the entire site. If it was up to me I'd pull the plug on the Lounge and moderate everything else ruthlessly.

Seems like the only threads that grow are either HD crap or George Bush and Politics..I kinda miss the days when we talked about our Triumphs.....But that was years back.
I dont mind the HD rubs and stuff, but it seems alot of folks get madder as the thread gets bigger.
I think some things should be left unsaid and not put on the boards, but thats why we all come here and voice our options.
Just my 2 cents =)

One of the problems is that there are very few new things to talk about with the bikes. Once all the usual ground has been covered ad infinitum, naturally some people slide into diarrhea of the keyboard.

Whew! At LEAST ya didn't say MONTHS....or FOREVER!(shut up Phil....I can hear ya in the background) I'll tone it down for ya, bud.  It's just that sometimes when things are goin' your way(like when you're one lucky S.O.B. who has a great life, a great wife, a few great motorcycles, AND...a "Lifestyle"[topical, HUH?! ] where it's readily apparent one has...ENTIRELY TOO MUCH FREAKIN' TIME ON ONE'S HANDS)...."stuff" like this just...HAPPENS! You know what everyone? Riding a motorcycle to work, play, trips, meeting groups for rides, is a "lifestyle". And it doesn't matter a bit what your favorite brand is. It just matters that your are having fun and enjoy two wheels! The End.

I agree with your comment about some sportbike riders- if they see another motorcycle, they JUST have to pass them. What cracked me up yesterday was I was riding in a heavy traffic four-lane, stop and go area. I saw a bike come up behind me and it whipped past me almost hitting the car in front when it stopped for a light. I couldn't beleive it was a Gold Wing! I started to pull him over so we could see which one of us could p*** higher up the wall. Some riders just have to show off.
I agree with you. I know nice people who ride all brands and styles of bikes.

Hey..... just reading this thread... Nothing wrong with bashing the "Harley lifestyle"...I have both a Harley and a real life! But when you go bashing the Steelers!!! Heresy!!!! Next thing I know you'll be bashing my Browns!!!!! Just kidding!!!! Harley does a much better job of selling their "lifestyle" than they do building their bikes... mine is an 03, I'd also like an 04 Road Glide...touring bike...nothing newer... and and old shovel and a small Triumph touring bike... my Speedy is so small and easy to handle compared to the Harley and my Yamaha it's like a toy.... ok, a very fast toy... Most of my riding friends have Harleys, only a couple of them seemed actually hurt when I bought my TBA. One told me I should make sure to get rid of it as soon as I could before it "devalued". When I ride with my friends, no matter what bike they are on, the lifestyle seems the same to me. When I've gone to events, I've had nothing but positive comments, no matter what bike they are on.
