Does anyone know if this is true? Quote:
In the upcoming season they will be chopping some Triumphs and they are now an authorized Triumph dealer and are developing some OCC custom parts for the aftermarket.

What do you suppose the Teutuls could do with a Rocket 111 as far as a radical theme bike of sorts? I bet it would represent a major challenge not being the proto-typical V-twin.
Id' like to watch that show.

Hey Kevin I'm all for people 'having a go' but I'm not sure about these clowns ...
I've never yet seen one of their shows all the way through but from what I gather, they do very little of the stuff themselves other than bolt together other people's work.
I'm happy to be corrected if that's not the case.
All their finished bikes looks samey to me but like I've said before when these muppets have been mentioned, it can't do the profile of Big T much harm if such a popular show starts using them as base machines can it?

That was true up until recently when they began production on their own OCC frames. I don't think they do engines, chrome, or paint as of yet, but they do have some very talented folks in those fields working with them. I am not much of a chopper guy, but I will take a look at a Triumph themed show!

Adey, they do quite a bit of their own fabricating. They use some stock frames and they do buy engines. But all the key pieces that make it work they do themselves: handlebars, pipes, mounting brackets, sissy bars, oil tanks, gas tanks, trim pieces, fenders, etc. They send stuff out to be painted and chromed. It's still their design possible by their work.
I'd love to see them do some Triumph powered bikes. If it's true, I'll be watching for sure.

Possibly not as bad as I was lead to believe then.
As long as they don't start ripping into Triumph with "we wouldn't have this problem with Harley blah blah" stuff. It would only take one of 'em to have a downer on the make and the editing that goes into the final show can be very selective.
Good on 'em if they're prepared to try other stuff though.

Well I do agree. A chopper is a chopper at some point. Although you do see some that are so radical in their nature that they obviously are for nothing more than crusing in a straight line back and forth on a boulevard. Most radical chopppers lose handling and stability compared to a more aerodynamically correct motorcycle in my estimation. ( I am no expert here)
I have probably watched only 10 or 15 of their episodes most recently the military themed bikes they made that were aired on the Miltary channel.
They do subcontract a lot of the work out but the basic design work is pretty much done in house it seems. They combine the same "We have to meet a deadline" scenario with intertribal familial argument that is mostly for show I believe and put it all on film.
Some episodes are better than others. The Teutuls are surely making money hand over foot ...a lot from the TV show and to a lesser degree selling bikes at high prices to people who can afford an OCC chopper.

Well GEEEE! All I can say is that NOW that I know that O.C.C is makin' their OWN FRAMES, I can't wait to see how they're goin' to shoehorn a RocketIII engine into a friggin' HARDTAIL frame!(oooh...I'll bet THAT'S comfy, huh?) I'm SURE, them being "excellent" in the art of motorcycle frame geometry, AND seeing as how ALL their many(and for some perplexing reason "desirable") "creations" handle SOOOO well out there on the road, that they'll "correct" all those little imperfections that those gentlemen situated in the Midlands of Old Blightly haven't seemed to be able to figure out about Mr.Bloor's monster of a bike. It's "truly amazin'" what a little "Yankee ingeniuity" can "accomplish", isn't IT?!!! Cheers, Dwight (hummm.....I wonder if I grow a walrus mustache TOO if Cal Tech would give me an honorary degree in mathematics[geometry, people...GET IT???!!!]...that COULD just open up a lot of doors out there for me later on!)

Well Adey! I MAY be the "Master of the Obvious"(and I seem to be ALSO mastering this "sarcasm thing")...BUT...if ONLY I could master this freakin' computer and the "science" of posting of PICTURES around here, I'd show ya what a REAL MOTORCYCLE(Matt Capri's SoBay Triumph "Monster Bonneville"...bored AND stroked at 1147cc[approx 115BHP...85 ft lbs of torque], and looking like a modern interpretation of a flattrack racer/streettracker) LOOKS LIKE, that costs HALF(about 35grand...dollars that is) of what those jokers at O.C.C. are charging for their...ahem...creations!!!!
I'll see if by the weekend if I can "master" THAT particular skill, and then people will SEE what a motorcycle should LOOK and PERFORM like!
Cheers, Dwight (ya know I went to Laguna Seca for the US MotoGP[congrats to Nicky Hayden, BTW] and my job there was to show this fantastic bike to the public, don't cha?[not ONE negative response from them]....it's FREAKIN' GORGEOUS!!!!)

I don't understand why so many people hate on OCC. I aint about to buy any of their stuff but a show about bikes is better than a show without them any day.

Yes and no. The biggest problem with that is there is less and less coverage of the actual bike building with each episode. I prefer something like Build or Bust, where the bike and the actual fabrication is front and center for the entire episode (well, except the episode when Johnny Chop died).

All the build shows are entertaining. I like to watch all of them. However, if I had to pick one as my favorite it would be Milwaukee Iron. I bet they could really do a nice job on a custom Triumph.

I must confess here. I have my tivo set up to record every OCC episode and every Build or Bust episode. I enjoy both shows, though sometimes the ranting in the OCC does get a bit boring. I sure would like to be able to afford one of their creations.

Does anyone believe that OCC is setting themselves up to design aftermarket parts for Triumph the way that Arlen Ness does for Harley? Would anyone buy their stuff for their Triumph?

If that were to happen, I could see some rocket owners buying that type of stuff. There are enough complaints about the lack of aftermarket for our bikes, somebody just might buy SM/BA stuff.

I would definitely buy OCC stuff if it looked cool on the bike and was something I wanted. If OCC did make aftermarket Triumph parts, it would also encourage others. The more the better.

Paul Jr. was wearing a Cali. Triumph dealer t-shirt throughout the show last night. I only watched, because they were assembling a bike for Bill Murray.

To tell the truth, I would buy bits from them before I would Ness.
As for Paul and sons, they seem to only have maybe 2 or 3 standard frames, maybe 5 tanks (well, they did make a couple from scratch) and hald dozen fenders that they carve up. Makes me wonder how they might deal with a Triumph engine. I also wonder what doodads they would paste on to make it a theme bike.

I have to sat that the Bill Murray bike has to be the ugliest bike they have made so far...and that's saying a lot! The poor guy got goaded into paying $150,000 at the auction for it! He didn't seem too happy about winning it.

What I loved was Bill Murray's line about, "This isn't a Billy Joel bike you're doing is it?" or something to that nature. Obviously referring to the bike they made for Billy Joel that he is reportably very unhappy with. The Tuttles didn't think that was so funny, I did though.

Not sure if the Bill Murrays bike is the ugliest one so far, but certainly one of the ugliests. However, for $150,000 i think he got ripped....BIG TIME
Thought the paint job looked like crap, Except for the battery box. Thought the painter did a great job making the box look like wood.
Did anyone notice the old Triumph that was on one of the benches in the workshop. Looked nice.

I'm pretty sure that was the point, as was the bike being ugly. They were trying to make it look like something that Bills f**k-up character from Caddyshack would build.
I personally think they should have taken the "ugly" theme one step further and actually dented the tank & fender with golf balls rather than painting the "dents" on. I'm sure there is a way they could have done that and still had it structurally sound. They should have also used a lawnmower engine like they did for the Dixie Chopper bike.
Here is a picture I found of the bike:

Here's a photo of the Sunoco bike, probably one of their better looking ones, IMHO. I'm not a big fan of the raked out front ends, so this appeals to me more than others they've done. Best part it's being raffled off, I may actually donate the $10 for a raffle ticket. But hey, it's for a good cause. Here's the link to the raffle info... I found the site to be a little slow though.

Never seen the Sunoco bike of theirs until this post. I like it. I too am not a fan of super raked out front ends. I want to be able to turn. (Is that too much to ask for?)

Ok, this time I agree, the Sunoco bike looks good. I’ve seen most of their other “theme bikes†and the majority look like crap.
