I know it is a normal noise and it is even more noticable with overhead cams like ours, But thickining the oil up to 20W-50 sure does help eliminate most of it. I can't believe they put 10W-40 in our bikes. Might as well use water at that point. I don't mean to get into a big oil battle. I swear.. But I sure noticed a difference all the way around when I went to Mobile V-Twin fully synthetic 20W-50. Get that 10W-40 out of your bike! Our rpm's are way too much for this water. And kiss the majority of that clicking/ticking noise goodbye. Unless you ride in the snow, then maybe 10W-40 would be appropriate huh?
