Finishing up the mods for this season and I come to what I think will be the easiest one and realize, "hey I need a third hand??"
I picked up some visors for the headlight and lightbar. Unbolted the ring and take out the clips and light. Insert the visor and try to fit the light back in while holding everything in place to try and put the clips back on. This in going on the second day of not being able to do this and I've finally given in to asking for help on my inability to figure this simple add on.
The only thing I haven't tried yet is swearing but with all of the neighbours kids watching me as I work I can't do that.

?Only a third hand? I fooled around last winter in a friends' shop for an hour or so. I kept needing two extra hands. When he showed up, this simplest of all things took about 15 minutes for all 3 visors. "How many Triumph riders does it take to change a lightbulb?" IMO changing out the stock airbox/freak deal was a piece of cake.

John,
Your not alone....funny how something that looks so simple can be such a PITA, I did use profanity and it got me no where with that visor install. Do a search for visor and I think your question will be answered, you've got to bend those tabs and if I remember correctly it still ain't gonna look or feel right but will go together and look perfect. Not sure if that helps, but wanted you to know your not alone!

As stated above, they are not a perfect fit by any means. Swearing does help though. I used some side cutters and just cut the tabs off and they fit a lot easier. The biggest visor is the hardest for sure and requires bending it until just before it tweaks and is ruined. This one also fits the worst, it's bigger than the light.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

Thanks to all for the replies. My first instinct is that I'm missing something. Some little trick that allows it to just slip in. I'll have to get a buddy over to give me a hand with this.
Now if I could just stop those darn little kids watching me while I do this and asking, "Is that a Harley?" "What is it?" When I answered it's British they came back with, "It came all the way from British Columbia?" Kids I love 'em especially with a nice wine on the side.

Wojo,
Enlist one of the little rapscalians to give you hand, as in "Hey kid, hold this piece while I put this retainer clip back in place". Afterwards give the little band of hoodlums each a soda and maybe they won't egg your house next Halloween.
good luck!

Too true, although this is shiny so it might keep their interest slightly longer than usual. But that only solves the problem of the first one.

Don't talk to me about eyebrows!! I had the same problem fitting them on my 72 VW camper. went to a show with the wife & she comes back with a set saying "these will look nice & the man said they can be fitted in 5 mins!!" 4 hours later & 2 new glass lenses & rubbers & with the help of 2 others we fitted them!! Then she says "Are they straight??" ******* So I decided I could live without them on the SM!
