I went to see our family lawyer yesterday he is into road and tarck racing his partner and him own a company called "Rising Sun" Racing they buy hand made Honda's from Japan for racing and he also sells them.

He asked me what's new, and I tell him about my new TBA and the first thing he say's is you guys suffer from Butt Burn on long rides.

He then tells me that on the racing curcuit they have the same thing and what works is before a long run his team rubs "asperacream" on the small of their backs and no butt burn.

After about 40 miles I start to feel it. So I tried it today and rode from Wolcott, CT. to Stamford, CT. and back about 75 miles round trip and did not even have a twinge.

Thought I pass it along $5.00 for a tube vs $500.00 for a new seat that your not sure is going to help. Worth a try seemed to work for me.

I have the Triumph Touring seat on my bike, so far no problems with butt burn at all. It's pretty darn comfy for me.

Soren, I'm with you. We added the alaskaleather.com sheepskin buttpads and it's even better!

What happens if it rains while you're away from the bike?

With my leather seat, a couple of wipes and it's dry (I also proof it quite regularly).
Doesn't the sheepskin hold the water and make life a little soggy?

Soren, I got the large for me and the #2 size passenger pad. Black in color. They attach with an elastic strap that goes under the seat, and seems to remain in place nicely.

The nice thing about the strap is that it has those quick disconnect buckles on both sides so you can remove it in a snap if you don't want to leave it on the bike.

By the way, alaskaleather delivered it to me instantly. Very prompt turnaround.

The wife gave it a quick try the other night. Look, anytime I can spend $100 on the bike and it makes the wife happy, it's got to be good. lol

I'll try to post pictures soon.

I started using A&D ointment before a 300 mile road trip when the weather is hot. It worked for my tatoos, and it works for the butt burn!

Gee, and here I always thought the stock Gunslinger seat on my TBA was one of the best seats I ever rode on. I have yet to have any real issues with butt burn while riding my bike. Guessing my most recent long ride was 275 miles and other then a slightly sore back from my no existant rear suspension, I felt great.

Magic weapon against Butt Burn (a.k.a. Monkey ******):

UnderArmor skivvies, preferably the compression heat gear shorts.

Check 'em out. They're a godsend.

Bicycle shorts under your pants ( works great for horseback riding too). And there's always Boudreaux's Butt Paste

Just got back from camping/riding in Smokey Mountains. Used Under Armor compression skivies under draggin jeans and the Under Armor wicking shirt under my new Triumph Integra jacket. 85 degree days and 250 mile days and no monkey butt.
