Has anyone had any issues with rear brakes. I know of the front rotor problem first hand, but now I suspect a problem
with my rear rotor as well. I had to replace the rear pads
(EBC) after only 4500 miles.(Yes, I use the front brake too) I then started experiencing a resonance at slow speed which felt like rear rotor issues.
Jacked up the bike, spun the wheel and there is indeed an intermittant drag in the brakes. Pulled off the caliper, spun the wheel, problem gone! Out of warrenty. Has anyone had to do a rear rotor replacement?

I had to replace rear pads at 2500 miles. The dealer didn't clean all the Cosmoline(Shipping Gunk when new) out of the pistons. The front piston was stuck so the rear piston was the only one pushing the pads. It wore the pads uneven. I haven't brought it back to the dealer yet because I don't trust them. Mines still under warrenty.

My rear brakes are starting to talk to me now. Dragging sound from the rear rotor. 5200 miles. Man, I barely use the rear, that is not acceptable! If car pads and rotors lasted that little bit the car makers would be out of business.

I had the same rear brake issues. 4600 miles or so out of the stock pads.
Ozz - you need to check the rotor with the caliper off and see if there is a problem. Check runout and check thickness in several spots. I would guess the problem is entirely in the caliper, unless you ran it for any length of time applying the rear brakes with the worn out pads.

When my stock brake pads wore out, I removed the calipers, thoroughly cleaned everything, lightly buffed off any corrosion, and applied a thin coating of brake grease to the pins and piston faces and backs of the new pads. I haven't had a problem since, and using EBC pads I get much longer wear on both the front and the rear.

Just noticed squeeking from the rear and now a rubbing sound coming from the rear brake. 8400 miles.
I have a new FRONT rotor/pads in the mail so I guess I'll check out the rear when I replace the front.
Time to get out the new Haynes manual. Hopefully, I just need to get some new rear pads.

I have a BA 2004 with 20km on the clock. I noticed an intermittent Klunk when I apply the rear brake but it seems to work ok As the bike is still under warrenty I had it checked out. The service department replaced the rear brake assembly plate that holds the brake assembly. This seemed to fix the problem until recently when I noticed the Klunk had returned. Has anybody had similar problems and if so what is the fix please.
