Ok then.... I'm not sure what I'm doing next week. I'll be there Friday - that's not up for negotiation. It's where I'm coming from. My mum is having problems with her ankle replacement, and is being frustrated by not going into hospital. (While she's off work she gets SSP only and she's been off for 4 weeks already. She may have to have the replacement replaced. ) She's seeing the consultant tomorrow, and Thursday is his operating day. As I finish work at 3 on Thursday next week I can be on the road by 330 and up there at 6 - rush hour at Birmingham...nice.
However she may not go in. This is all vague, but I'm trying to sort my diary for the next couple of weeks out. It also relies on me getting my America back! I can't load a lot on the Thruxton. If all else fails I will give my stuff to someone on a train and pick it up at Moreton...
So....
Are we meeting up somewhere on Friday? Jan suggested:
Quote:
Ok guys, how about the bike park @ Stratford on Avon about 1800-ish? Or Jct. 15 M40 in the S-bound A429 layby? Just a suggestion - any others?
I'd be happy with Stratford - I know where that is - and from either direction.
Just want someone else to say something either way. Then it could be concidered a decision!
An hour or so later:
An afterthought.
What time we going out on the Saturday too? I said I'd keep someone updated who's gonna come out on the Saturday. Too many questions I know but I'm in one of those moods. Or bored, make your own mind up.

Sat looking at work rotas today and thought what is the point of being the boss if you can't occassionally pull a few strings so....... got someone else to cover my late shift. So will be there friday, although I will still have to come home to dog/lad sit!! So Gina you will have some company!!! Right times - will fit into what everyone else wants to do friday, as I am only 20min from Stratford. As for Sat, how about 10am for ride out? That will give those that are come for the day the chance to get there, and me chance to pitch tent!!!

Went for a recce to Watchford today - route learning ! Got lost in Stratford! Where's the bike park in Stratford? I went around the ring road (twice !)which seems to circumnavigate the car park, and saw a bike going in there. Can I presume that is it? Found myself back on the 429 to Wellesbourne ! Gonna try again tomorrow. If bread snapper number 2 gets back from the Reading pop festival with the tent intact and clean, (second thoughts - maybe I'd be better getting a new one ! ) and I can get a rack fitted, I'll probably stop the two nights. I could go to Watchford first, pitch the tent and then back to meet in STFD
If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

If you come out of the bike park, turn left at the bottom and over the bridge, follow signs A3400 to Shipston. Keep going - turning is about 4 mile after Shipston. See link to map above.

I think it's here.....maybe if I'm wrong someone will be able to tell you exactly where it is... I've only been once. So if it's not I'll say I'm a female and I'm not supposed to have a sence of direction...If I'm right....well...

Spot on Gina, that's exactly where it is. On the right hand side as your ride round the ringroad - adjacent to the multi-storey jobby.

Paul and I had a rideout there today. Nice place. GRAVEL CAR PARK lots of loose stuff on the road - beware ! Flat camping area - not too big - will be able to affect the whole village with the snoring ! Toilets / shower facilities available. Barman was just closing but still served us to a drink. Paul took some pics and is trying to get them downloaded off his high tech thingy - majig....magic lantern !
If you do it today you MIGHT regret it. If you CAN'T do it tomorrow you WILL regret it.

Yeah I saw you both today about 1400 on the A3400 headin' south just by Cherington/Wolford turn - we were heading north in black Merc. You were on silver/green and blue BA's? Wondered if it was you checking the pub out. I actually live about 100m from where we saw you. Glad you like the pub - beer's good, isn't it?

Closing - When it is still light? Don't they know we have all day opening now? Or is this a quaint Old English tradition?

Looks like I'll have to bail on this weekend guys.
I need to got to Redditch anyway so I can meet up anywhere at any time to wave you guys off. A bit of deja vu there, me waving people off for a trip without me .........
Where was I? Yeah, so agree a meet and I'll come say hi / bye.
I also have Gina's Euro ba.com flag which you'll probably need too.

How about 6:30pm. At bike park, in Stratford Upon Avon.
Could everyone that is going please confirm: So we know who we will be waiting for at Stratford.
Jan, Is it worth having a second meeting place later for those that are arriving late? Say somewhere like Cafe on roundabout of A3400 and A429(Fosse Way), so we can lead them to the site, as it will be getting dark by 8:30.

Don't think it's a cafe anymore - last I knew it was a car rental base and drive-in barbers and nail bar (could come in handy, though ....) but it would be a good secondary meet - what do you think?
