When I let go of the handlebars on a straight road with very little crown, the bike drifts to the right fairly fast, like would run off the road in probably 3-4 seconds. Of course the front wheel hops up and down at around 35-40 like the wheel is out of balance. My dealer is like 300 miles away, but there are other Triumph dealers closer, any suggestions??
It was a beautiful day and I rode the bike 100 miles, but it was ruined by the front end wackiness!

I'd call around. Pretty much any bike shop could take care of a spoked wheel, but if it is under warrenty, call a triumph dealer. Taking the wheel off is no big deal, so you could even take it in and drop it off.

The right drift is normal. It's caused by the engine being offset to the right to get the drive chain past the fat rear tire.

That may be a generalization and I don't know that I concur....I don't experience any drift, right or left, when I take my hands off the bars...I've done it at highway speeds and lower. The bike runs straight and true (dependant to a degree on road surface profile, of ourse). I've let go for considerabnly longer than 3-4 seconds.

Try D&D Triumph Cycles, 1038 West Little Creek Road, Norfolk, VA 23505 (757) 423-1082
Only about 170 miles from you! Small shop, looks like a little ratty hole, real nice folks, took VERY good care of me. They do a lot of work on local racing bikes, sell about 60 Triumphs a year. I recommend them highly. Don't own them, not employed by them, etc., etc.

I agree with dbguy, d & d are very good folks. I don't work there either. I do stop in occasionally on fri nights for free beer and pizza.

I took it to a local dealer, and the tech rode it and said nothing is wrong with it. Problem is I know there is something wrong with it. Anybody local want to ride it and tell me what you think? I'm going to take it to another dealer today, about 60 miles, and see what they say. This is driving me nuts, I have a feeling the dealers are going to say "Sorry there is nothing wrong, I really think its the tire or the wheel, I had it balanced today and it didn't help.

They probably didn't get it up fast enough to hop.

My bike moves to the right when I take hands off...just always figured there was more weight on that side? I am not going to worry about it.

My bike "hops" / "pogos" at about the same speed...I was told by Ron (fishercat) that his did also but after a few K on the odometer it stoped....I keep thinking its out of Bal...but I have yet to take it in to the dealer....but it is a fairly common problem on the BA and always at the same speed range....

If it is always around the same speed, I would think it is a balance issue, since it is one of those harmonics/frequency things. Also, alignment can play a role.
