I was the one with the exploed air box pictures. The dealer was kind enough to replace it under warranty, but it was generally assumed that the cause was most likely the petcock being left open.
The bang was so loud I nearly crapped my pants - not kidding. Ever since then, I have been very anal about turning my gas off every time I get off my bike. Why risk it?
