dmillikan, I hope it's (3), but time will tell. The majority of the r+d by Corbin was completed on the first seats made for our bikes and I understand there must be a certain quantity that is sold where they break even and then make profit. I agree HD is a large market, but how many Buells vs Triumph sales are there and did they get hit with this kind of price jump? Don't know and don't care to research it. The man still runs his business with his choice of tech assistance and human advice that he chooses. I guess I'm old fashioned as I will gladly pay a couple dollars more for good service. I support my dealer because it is a motorcycle shop and not a boutique where employees have little or no knowledge of the product. This is similar to car dealers placing an added market adjustment on a popular model. I won't buy anything where I feel they're trying to put a fist in my butt just because I must have their product.
