I think that a lot of the ho-hum feeling towards the Who, and many others, for that matter, stems from the fact that radio back then would play to death anything that was good. Witness "Srairway to Heaven", arguably one of the best rock and roll songs ever, but I really can't stand it anymore 'cause the radio stations played it about four times every hour. And Zep never even released any singles!! But they would play it to get listeners and sell advertising. AH, the dollar again. The love whichof starts everything evil. Including ruining good rock 'n roll
