Anyone ever come across replacement aftermarket spokes for our BA/TA wheels? Like stainless steel? Or does anyone know what sizes or specs to look for?
I don't know squat about spokes or lacing a wheel, other than to check them now and then. I'd like to replace them with ss one of these days.

My only guess would be to go to a custom MC shop and see if they could hook you up with some spoke information. I've always wondered why no one here has put custom chrome wheels on their America or SM. You know like from RC components, those flashy chrome deals.

Probably because it's about $2,000 or more for a pair of RC Component wheels. Might even have to get them custom made, depending on if you could find some that adapt our cush drive, rotors, and axles. And custom wheels aren't cheap...at least double that $2,000 I would think.

Question (sorry no answer grump) Could you fit pretty much any width 15" rim and re-use the spokes? Or would you need different spokes depending on the width of the rim?

As Soren has said and posted, Buchanan's has 'bout any spoke you want - 'cause they make them in house.
Send them your rear wheel and they'll send you back a gem, from what I've seen.

Thanks, Soren. I'll probably send Buchanan's an email and see if they either know what I need for an America or if they can tell me enough info to order the right spokes. I'll try my dealer too. He may know someone local. I'd rather not send my wheels across the country when the time comes.

How bout a source for rims? I happen to have a 16" triumph rear wheel in my posession, but it's the 3.5 width. If I could get a wider rim, or even a 17 and some spokes, I would be in heaven.
