As you are likely aware, polished aluminum usually oxidizes, and turns back to dusty looking metal. A little touch up buffing now & then may be required down the line.
Alcoa has developed a process to make polished aluminum keep it's shine in truck wheel applications, but I have no clue how they do it. Maybe they peen the shine into the alloy? Dunno.
