Why is it that every single cycle shop I go to refuses to even look or talk about a Triumph. I cant get any work done...they wont even give me advice...why do peope care so much about what manufactor they ride...who cares! Ive been outkasted out of shops by Harley and Honda guys.Best part is...the Triumph dealer closest to me...guy's an idiot...he know how to do nothing except order a Triumph factory part, and barely at that! Guys...it is lonely being at the top...* Opens a Yeungling...signs online to talk to the only motorcyclist worthy of conversation.* Thank you Triumph Riders...

It's the price we pay for riding a unique brand. Nearest good Triumph shop to me is 120 miles away. I tried the local dealer and I won't be going back after they put the bolts on only 2 or 3 threads deep on my front right caliper, and they fell out less than 3 miles away on one of the busiest streets in Tucson during rush hour.
Best thing you can do is learn how to work on the bike yourself. Just by reading these forums, and asking for advice when you aren't sure about something, is the way to go. This way you get to know your bike better, and you don't have to worry about some incompetent mechanic trying to get you killed. These bikes aren't really THAT hard to work on. Just buy a shop manual, or the new Haynes manual and you'll be on your way.
Btw, if you're looking for advice on custom work, try www.bitterendchoppers.com . They're in Indiana, but they've done a frame and build on a Triumph bobber/chopper using a new Bonneville. Maybe an e-mail to them can get some advice about your ideas...like the nacelle headlight.

Come on over to the NorEast Rally and we'll show you how to do everything yourself. Spend your money with Brent instead.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

I moved here to beautiful East Tennessee from Philadelphia almost three years ago. You are tolerably close to two of the best dealers I have done business with -- Manayunk Triumph in Manayunk and Martin Motorsports in Pottstown, PA. They'll give you the great service you deserve.

I'll throw ya one better. I walked into a harly service bay to ask a pipe question about where to get something done. The one guy who seemed to be a janitor was talking to a mechanic. When i asked he was the one who talked to me while the mechanic just remained silent saying nothing. When the janitor or whatever he was asked what kind of bike it was i said a 2005 triumph. The mechanic turned around with a big smile and laughed then turned back around and kept working on the bike. i just wanted to say "you got a problem with that you inconsiderate jerk"? Meanwhile he's fixing a harley while my triumph is running fine, something that he probably doesn't understand. total ahole.

You know we hear all these nice stories about harley guys complimenting us on our bikes and stuff, yet it amazes me that people still act like that mechanic...

Check out Martin Eurosports in Coopersburg,PA. http://www.martineurosports.com/?sid=enterThey are partners with Martin Motorsports in Pottstown, PA. Thier top Mechanic, Bill Himmelsbach, is considered one of the best around. His son Mike races a Daytona 675 and is doing pretty good. They're about one hour north of Philly an nice little ride. I've been happy with them. I'm sure they could help you out.

Go and see Buzz (the owner) and Tommy (the wrench) at Manayunk Triumph. Great guys, Triumph only dealership and a great area to hang out while the bike is being serviced. There are too many places to list to have food, adult beverages, coffee within a 5 minute walk. Then again, the last time I was in for service I took the demo Rocket for a ride. It's only 10 minutes west of center city. Or a half hour, depending on traffic. If you know Philly, you know what I mean...

dazco, you should have politely commented to something along the lines of "at least my Triumph doesn't NEED to be worked on, I'd hate to have you bungling it up for me like you're doing to that boat anchor there..."

Yeah, but i didn't want to say anything because i knew if i did it wouldn't be pretty. So i bit my tounge.
Benny......i always hear that but aside from a HD rider who recently complimented my bike, i've yet to have one even acknowledge my presence. They usually see me and immediatly just turn away. In fact, when i stop at the local HD store when i need something non brand specific, theres always a bunch of them sitting out side talking bikes and they literally never acknowledge me. It's like the speedy is invisable to them. Just what i've noticed but to be honest i don't really care.

Guys,
I live in Coatesville, Pa (45 minutes west of Philly). Can't say enough nice things about Manayunk Triumph! These guys are great. Not only is their service department talented, but they'll gladly carry on a conversation about your bike. Buzz and Chris, have treated me not like a customer, but a friend. I've only owned a Triumph and known them for about 1 year.
Concerning Martin, I've heard good things, however, I can't say I've experienced them. I was asking newbie questions, and they sure made me feel that way (i.e. lack of attention, tried to sell me a different brand of bike, etc).
I've always found the 40 mile ride to Manayunk worth the trip. Good eats are within walking distance too.
Steve B.

I bought my TBA at Freehold Triumph and all I can say is it has been a PLEASURE from the start to deal with them. Kevin Maddux in sales will bend over backwards not only to sell you a bike but will help you any way he can after the sale. The Parts and service people are just as helpfull as sales. I would recomend them to anyone!!!
