When it comes to pipes, our bikes are more flexible than most people realize. Anything that has an 1 3/4" inlet and has a style that you like, will fit on our bikes.

Rejetting depends on a couple different things like the pipes you get, your elevation, and a couple other things. Dinqua has a rejetting calculator and instruction on how to rejet on his web site (http://www.Dinqua.com). Pretty darn handy.

Stock pilots are 42s. The lower snorkels are no longer in the models 05 and later.

The "lower snorkles" are in and forward of the air filter. Gotta kinda feel around in there. You need SOME backpressure in there, so literal straight pipes aren't that great. Follow the dinkulator and you'll be all set.

I put the 16" JCWhitney tapered shorties on my '03 TBS. It's
loud enough, but doesn't set off car alarms. Eventually I'll
rejet, but it's okay w/o it, just a little megaphonitis from
the mid 3's to 5 grand. At $32 per muffler, you can't beat it.

I guess 'loud' is subjective. I bought the alterante silencer from Triumph and had the carbs rejetted on my '06 'Merica. Perfromance difference is amazing and I'm still getting 44MPG in Texas hill country and city driving. They aren't as loud as some and were about $350 plus installation which was cheaper than most other vendors. As for loud, I wouldn't want anything louder.

I went to a car exhaust shop and got two 1.2m lengths of 2" diameter stainless exhaust tube. Got them to taper one end down to 1 3/4" so it would fit over the headers. Couple cuts here and there, some high temp paint, zorst wrap etc and you're in business. I put baffles in as well so total spend was about A$350 but it would be about A$250 without baffles. An aftermarket exhaust goes for about A$1000 here so I'm happy. It's not for everyone (LOUD !!) but I like to do stuff myself.

I'll stop using black when they make a darker color.
