Yep, forty minutes of hard riding to Robbinsville....Western NC was recently blessed with the addition of six motorcycle policemen to patrol the area (they made the headlines and local newscasts)....its okay with me, a lot of those crotch rocket guys are a bit reckless (there's at least a death a month between the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway), but it sure makes it tough on a guy like me who chooses to forego the DOT required helmet and sports a barely there beanie--at $200 a pop for the ticket that hurts....I haven't been stopped yet down that way, but its inevitable I guess.
