In case anyone is thinking about it. I removed the two baffles from each of the stock exhaust pipes. They sound great. They make a nice loud rumble but nothing annoying and you can actually hear the engine if you pay attention. I didnt notice any performance issues.

How hard is it to remove them?

If you use the hole saw its best. I tired but my drill didn't have enough HP to drive the hole saw.

So, I just punched a bunch of holes around the baffles using a long a long bit. Then bang them in with a pipe and pull them out.

I still have the hole saw if anyone needs it.

Yep you need a decent drill, mine was new (cheap) drill burnt up doing the job, it did it no problem but gave up the ghost doing it. I would say no less than a 1/2 hp drill.

I am going into number two as well C, I like the sound the first plate gives, but I still want a little more noise and hoping for more tone. First plate was great compared to stock, but certainly isn't quiet and far from loud.

Tapped into Baffle # 2 with drilling 3 holes like BMWhd did (he did four) it sounds m,ore awesome! Rumbles more and lower tone, volume is not an issue, not too loud, just right. Sounds erally cool.

I did the same thing. I used the hole saw from MikeSr. My little 1/2hp drill was really not powerful enough but I got it done. I'm not all that thrilled with the sound but it will have to do until I can afford aftermarket pipes. It is definitely better then stock, though.

I don't know if IMOK did or not, but after talking to some of the gear heads on this site and the shop that did my 12k service, I decided not to. I think most the aftermarket pipes include new jets and if I change pipes, I probably will rejet.

Anyone tried drilling a 1/4" pilot hole first, using a jobber length drill bit? Maybe a drop of oil on the drill bit tip from time to time, too.........
