I would say yes you have to remap. This is base on my '03 Ninja 636 (an EFI bike). The EFI can take a small change. But air box mod's and pipes would be to much. For the ninja I put a power commander on it. Power Commander has maps on their site for different bikes and pipes. For mine I had a custom map made by having the bike dyno tuned.
