I don't know where you heard that, but i've been using simple green for many many years on everything you can imagine and never once say any negitive issues like that. It a mild organic cleaners thats probably less problematic than nearlky anything. I can't imagine it pitting metal ! Maybe if you leave a puddle of it on metal for days, but then so would water. If this is true, then i've been INCREDIBLY lucky !
