Have the same loud clunk in my '06 Speedmaster... I was also assured that it was normal, but with just over 1000 miles in the two and a half weeks I have owned it, i am waiting until the second scheduled service to switch over to synthetic oil... hopefully that does as you say quiet it down a bit, but in the mean time... I am having my Septres put on Friday
