Drove up to Cocoa Beach (about 15 miles from launch site) to watch the launch. What a sight. Could hear the roar and about 4 minutes after lift off when the shuttle broke the sound barrier the sonic boom blasted everybody. That was the best roman candle I have seen today. Beach was crowded and everyone was yelling and going crazy. It made this a really special Independence Day.
