Has anybody had the front bolt holding the clutch cable bracket strip itself out of the housing. Was cleaning bike yesterday and noticed the bolt was loose, tried to tighten it and found it stripped. Took the bike to the dealer who had never heard of this problem on an America before.Unfortunately it is 1 month out of warranty. They have ordered a new gaskit and will put in a steel halycoil to fix it.
Pretty common amongst the ham fisted wrenchers. Oops, did I say that out loud? Anyway, some people have just put the next size larger bolt in and it is easier than puil;ling the side off to fix it.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

I have the allen heads from Brent, and the front one's shorter than the one in the rear position. Don't know if it's supposed to be that way, if the set was wrong, or if I got off 1 hole in the sequence. Been being pretty careful with it anyway. Makes me wonder though - if I was to strip the front one, could I just swap 'em & be ok?
Said Molly to James, that's a fine motorbike.
