And one more thing. I know this should go in the resale section but it's an offer only for those coming to the rally. I have used my windshield like...pretty much never. It's the stock Trump model that makes our bike look like a police bike. Pat keeps telling me, "well...if you ever go on a long ride...". But, I ride in the winter, the rain and went all the way to Quebec City. If I haven't found a reason to put it on yet, I'm not going to. It's collecting dust.

If anyone wants it, I'll let it go cheap to a good home. I'll toss it in the vehicle carrying our gear and I'll bring all the parts I can find since I'm not sure where all the nuts and bolts are. Even if I can't find them I'm pretty sure a hardware store can take care of things. I've to the brackets and all so someone make me an offer and the first one in gets a windshield to ride home with. The rubber rim is missing...that's it. Otherwise, it should be in essentially mint condition.

Pat,
Throw my name on the list as an innie... I had not planned on coming as in I asked for the time off and they said no. Well I've decided I don't give a sh!t... told them today I was taking off so deal with it. Hey if I got a job to come back to fine, if not, even better. Okay so let's see, I need a shirt, a patch, a map, oh yeah, some place to stay...lol. Somebody send me a number of where the majority of ya'll are hanging and I'll call to see if I can get a room.

Steve...

(by the way, if they tell me at work not to bother coming back I'm cashing in a CD and returning to Chicago via California, anyone in?...lol)

Mert,
I have an Ovation 6 string acoustic, a nylon strung classical of some name and a Fender Strat if you feel the urge to pluck. I also have alittle electric piano thingamabob and some C harmonicas. I can borrow my budies banjo too for Yota so he'll feel right at home.

Ovation...Fender...man Pat, we gotta get you some real guitars. You'd think a Triumph rider would know with a Fender, all you're buying is the name. Kinda remind you of any other brand names?

I've had it about 17 years actually, bought new, Strat Plus delux with lace sensor pickups, slipshot whammy, quickset tuners etc etc.
I used to buy here and resell American made strats in Australia for awile. I always kept the nicest of each lot until this one kept staying here so I just kept it. Yea, it's an old man's guit-box, but it howls. I just don't know how to play it though. Maybe someday I'll take a lesson or two.

I'll throw a pair of sticks in my saddlebags, I figure you'll
have some 5-gal pails, or something, lying around
that I can bang on.

I have an idea I'd like to bounce off you:
Like Ron(Fishercat), I'd also like to travel on the light
side. But, I'd like to camp out at your place, to save the
hassle of going back, and forth, to a motel. If it's OK with
you, I'll pack up my camping gear, and extra clothes, in a
box and UPS it to you. Whadaya think? Let me know.

I'm really looking forward to this.

How many btu's do you think the sticks are?
There is a decent music shop in town, buy sticks here, save room.

Hey Mert,
Roy used to = Tellie, but, I think at the time of his death
He was playing a Jap guitar that a jacka$$/friend of mine
turned him onto. Strangely enough, this friend of mine also
hung himself.

Maybe we'll discuss this at the NE Rally.

Or, we'll jam.

Giant is an understatement. It looks like he bolted two Winnebagos on the sides of his bike.

First thing is that absolutely nothing beats Fender DESIGNS when it comes to electric instruments and Martin when it comes to acoustic instruments in my not so humble opinion. May I again stress the word "designs". I own in the vicinity of 25 guitars and 5 are Fender designs, 1 Martin, and 4 more of Martin design. I also have a few of Gibson design along with a fine assortment of old Harmony guitars from the 50's-70's.

The only problem I have with Fender is the low quality of the product with the high pricetag. I play G&L guitars (the REAL Fender...ask me if you don't know their story) and the quality for the price is absolutely unheard of. One of my teles, for example, cost me $1200. And this is a 100% HANDMADE instrument.

And because I'm young, that automatically means I know absolutely $hit about...well...anything including music, and vintage instruments. I can say with much certainty that I've plugged in or strummed more guitars than most anyone outside the music world. For 4 years, I made a living as a working musician, playing 5-7 nights a week, and I also used to be a part-owner of a guitar shop, so I've played hundreds and hundreds of instruments ranging from Gibsons & Fenders from the 50's to anything made more recently and about everything in between. So figure that I've played probably 100 teles over the years from every decade of their existence, and this tele sounds as good as or better than any 40 year old Fender. So, why spend $10k-$20k on a comparable vintage product, $4000 on a Fender custom shop (which are phenomenal instruments) or the same on a vastly inferior product (new mass produced Fenders)? It doesn't make sense to me at all...but I may have no grounds for this comparison since I'm young.

We won't even bother getting into electronics/pickups since that truely is a subjective area when it comes to guitars.

But anyways, this or my original post for that matter is not an attack on anyone or their choice of instruments, but an explanation because it seems as if some offense was taken to the yute joking with Pat. And it's not like I'm bashing someone's wife or mother, it's just a guitar I was joking about...ulitmately, who cares?

we were talkin about instruments a lot on sunday. I was saying that most saxophone snobs would scoff at my choice, it's a selmer, but the USA model so it's not flashy, not the best reputation, etc. But it SOUNDS great, is fairly cheap (for a bari), and considering my needs, WAY more horn than I'll ever need, or even HAVE played in the past. So I'm happy Kinda like buying a bike, not only subjective, but should fit your needs and wants most of all.

Just a reminder, 38 daze...
If you don't have a reservation, you should call the LaFayette ASAP if you plan on staying there. She told me yesterday she has a lot of res's for youz guys already but only has a few rooms left, so give her a shout if you need a room still.

Gotta make some more beer this week too, I already emptied one of the kegs and have dented another. That leaves 4 still, but another 2 are in order. each one is 5 gallons by the way, the stainless Coke kegs are what I use. I have a IPA and a Honey Pale Ale and some 4 year old barleywine (not for the meek, about 15% abv) on tap now. I am making a very cool specialty beer this week that will astound you. I toasted the grains and special ingrediants the other day and will brew this wednesday/thrusday. I have company from Seattle staying with me Wednesday, he's a brewer too so he can assist, but he will also want to help drain one of the other kegs.
But anyway, it looks like about 50+ folks are now saying they will be here, more if everyone that says they are coming actually do show up.
Tad has the band all set to play Saturday night as of our last conversation, my brother, Al, is all set to barbeque for us, he's a master q'er. Ed (biker) says maybe we'll cook up a huge spisghetti dinner for one of the nights too. He painted his bike too, but hasn't told anyone yet. (His son works at the race track with me).
Are you packed? Ready to party? Ready to ride?
Let's git 'r dun!

oh yea, I forgot, PLEASE sign up on the NorEast Patch and T-shirt thread if you have not already. I have orders for over 50 patches and 60 shirts, so sign up so I can order the shirts. I will get a few spares, but the sizes are what I am after. Patches already ordered, 75 on their way.

I just reserved a room at the Lafayette Motel. I just got the last room with 2 double beds. She said she has 1 room left for that weekend.
Pat, looking at Accuweather.com, I decided to get a room instead of camping. My old back wouldn't like the cold ground. If I read it right it drops into the 40s at night in September?
Looking forward to seeing everyone again and some new friends. 37 and a wake up!

Just called the Lafayette, They are all booked up on Friday. They reccommended the Pinewood motel. I called and got a voice message saying noone was available to come to the phone and to leave a message ( which I did). Two hours and no call back....hhhmmmm. Anyhow they are apparently only about a hundred yards from the Lafayette, so still in partying distance!!! Their number is 585-394-0150, if anyone is still looking for a room.... Ride safe....Gordon

called them some time this morning.
I told her when and she said " are you with the rest of the bikers "
