Funny guy! No but I will be in CT for 3 days before going to the rally, so, strictly speaking, I'm only coming from CT..

If we ride right into Lake Ontario, that means we have gone too far.
Incidentally, I hear that the now infamous "Sparks" is made from Lake Erie water. Go figure.

If you just ride north until you smell chicken wings, you're pretty close. If you stop to ask for directions and you get them using Tim Horton restaurants as landmarks, you went to far and are in Canada.

By the way I got to thinkin. We're gonna have a LOT of mods at this rally. Just Sandman, Freedom, grump and FJ missing. So it'll be two more than GA (Wojo and Adey). So unless someone else is planning a surprise visit, we should have like 3/4 of us there Maybe Grump will grace us?

Jane and I have been discussing a trip to New Zealand maybe next year. We would go see Graeme and do one of his bike tours with rented Triumphs. But we gotta see where we are $$ wise. It's about $3,000US each for the trip and the bike rentals. Already been to Oz, but we would also like to make a few stops there as well. Especially Perth area, that place is fantastic and really far away from the rest of the world. Queensland is also beautiful, but you gotta plan right to avoid the monsoon season. And on top of all that, they have really good beer! I especially liked the VB, not available in the states though.

I actually have a friend of mine in Calgary bring me a tin of Timmy Horton's each time he is in the States.

Easy there, "Wrong Way Spaziani"...... While ringing Mert's fish bell is on my list of things to do before I die, September is still a long way off. I don't want to be one of those who says I'll be there and then begging off the day before because the driveway needs spackled or something. I've got 3 reserve vacation days at the ready but I'm not saying yay or nay till I can be certain.

Not to rub it in or anything but I went to Northern VA over Fourth of July weekend (Sat to Tues) and it was goooooood. I did half an ironbutt (ironcheek?) each way and I felt so much better when I got home. It was about 520ish miles up and 530ish miles back. On the way up I rode the Blue Ridge Parkway from Fancy Gap to the start of Skyline Drive in 4.5 hours (200 miles and change). I didn't do Skyline since I needed gas and it would have gotten dark before I got to the end. Just an FYI, it's $10 for motorcycles on Skyline now.

I've been looking at similar trips to Europe, either the Alps or Spain or there is another to Brazil. The only thing is they aren't Triumphs that I would ride and well I would feel dirty and wrong. Plus the single room rates are what is holding me back most jack up the price by at least $1000.

Question to Mert, Other Lady riders, wives or girl friends going to this rally? Any of you ladies like White Zinfadel wine? My wife doesn't like beer much, especially since all I ever have around the house is Guinness or Smithwicks. The wife(Vanessa) would like to have a couple of wines with the lady riders! Plans are now(Not in stone yet) to Jeep/Trailer(Silver Liberty just like Bennys)to Columbia Crossroads,PA (Elmira,NY)then do the 1.5 to 2.0 hour trip back west(on the Bike)to Canandaigua. Details still in the works. Look forward to seeing YA'LL again. CHy I'm still parcticing my Southern Drawl so I can Understand YA'LL!!!!!!!YA'LL come back now Ya hear! Steve

Steve,
If we can work something out for 13 year old at home, my wife will be coming with me. She may even have her bike by that time.

Benny, you went from bad gas mileage to worse? Was the Liberty a company car? Big Poppy(John)That would be great, If we get enough riders in our age group we might be able to keep these kids calmed down! Yota, Matt,Just kidding kids! John, My wife has driven my America but she's not ready for her own yet. But a Yamaha V-Star looks like the one she wants(Low to the ground) Only about 10 weeks to go. Lots of riding to do before this rally gets here. Steve

Yup company car. It was actually cheaper to drive the jeep to GA than ride since I don't pay for gas in it

I like it when someone else pays for the gas. I almost ran TBA out of gas last weekend, 3.6 gals, cost me $12 to fill it back up. Are you still planning on stopping in Elmira before the Rally?

Steve,
Funny you mentioned the V-Star, that is the bike she liked when were at the dealership.
Would like to keep it a pure Triumph family though, saves me from building another garage.
