Believe it or not, the USAF has set aside about 6 spaces where I work and even put down large metal strips with non-skid fo our bikes. It's just the stuff we have to wear to get ther that is a pain!
Can you talk / email the big guy at work and explain the logic in a reserved spot? Promoting energy conservation?
