Does anybody else notice a black crud on their braided stainless lines...

At first I thought I had a leak but also noticed Ron (fishercat) seemed to have the same greesy crud we thought it might be road crud...but it only seems to form on the lines...

I cleaned it all off about a week or two ago and just noticed it's back..?????

sounds like they are weeping a bit of oil. My left one does that a little. Not a big deal. DON'T OVER TIGHTEN THEM! They will strip out very easily.

I try to aggravate one person a day. Today may be your day.

Im not noticing any crud on the fittings or "crush" sleeve ...just the braid itself and no wet or damp fitings either...wierd...

Could it be just brake dust from the front caliper?

I used to think it was brake dust too, then I noticed it up there. I think it's the teeniest bit of weeping that catches road grime and it just doesn't cling to anything else but those braided lines have lots of little nooks and crannies to grab onto. That's my theory...

Yep I get the same stuff , every couple weeks I clean it off. I agree that the braided line must act like a grime magnet.

Ahh beer its not just for breakfast anymore
