A couple of years ago they even gave away a HD/covered with Deere logos

And while JD has marketed it's brand pretty well over the years, I would say it's nothing compared to HD or even Coke (coca-cola) or Disney.. you will never see a JD store that doesn't sell equipment first, accessories and related items second.
