Hi Folks,
My 2003 Speedmaster has a strange white corosion happening to it right along the outer edge. It looks horrible and probably shouldn't be happening considering the bike is kept in a heated garage year round. Has anyone else had this issue? Also because of this problem I am looking for a new set of matching rims (doesn't have to be stock) and would like some suggestions on where to look if anyone has any.
Cheers, Moto

Discussion around here is that any of the wheels off the 3-cyl classics will fit. You'll probably want one off a Thunderbird sport(if you can find one) for the front.

The rear rim seems to be the toughest to track down with it being 15"...

Yeah but you could fit a 16" rear rim and different tire...

Mine has it too. Its the clearcoat coming off. You can use a stipper to remove all the CC & then polish it back out.
we should do this every weekend!

Regular Thunderbird front's the same as a TBA front. The Tbird sport's front is 1" smaller diameter with dual disks. Only good if you want to convert to speedmaster front brakes with a spoked wheel, custom built from the Tbird Sport hub & TBA rim.

From your description, this sounds like surface corrosion and shouldn't be a cause for too much concern if you take care of it before it gets too deep. Have you considered using this as an opportunity to have your wheels powdercoated? It would be less expensive than buying new wheels, and you'd have the benefit of being able to customize your bike a bit to your own unique tastes. I plan on getting mine powdercoated satin black as soon as it's time for a tire change (since the tires will come off then anyway).
