So what OS are you running now? Win98? Win ME? Win 2000? Win XP?

If running more modern versions you can type [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Delete} and up will pop an opportunity to select Task Manager. That will list the "Applications" that are running. Those are the ones that eat your RAM and other resources. Killing off "Processes" without knowing the specific application or purpose the process is supporting can get you into deep trouble realy, really quick.
