Okay guys! HERE'S the REAL poop!!!

I've just heard from sources, of which unfortunately I am NOT at this time permitted to divulge their names(so, GO AHEAD and TRY to confirm THIS, I DARE ya), that BMW IS INDEED at this time planning strajedy...er...strategy to acquire Triumph in a HOSTILE TAKEOVER bid.

However, the astute Mr. Bloor and his boys, in a most intelligent and courageous manner, have come up with what appears the PERECT DEFENSE to this, for want of another term...AGGRESSION, apparently being planned by those forces headquartered in Munich.

Triumph will resurrect a name that has proven in the past to STRIKE FEAR into the hearts of those from across the Channel who would be so bold as to EVEN THINK that they could hold even a small piece of the "Island Fortress" known as...ENGLAND!!!

YES!!! Mr. Bloor has announced that..A MOTORCYCLE..will soon be hitting the market with the hallowed name of.... SPITFIRE.....TRIUMPH Spitfire.

Hey, trust me! I don't just make this stuff up, ya know!

Cheers,
Dwight
(OH! BTW....I ALMOST FORGOT....Any resemblance in the above post to any actual names or events are purely coincidental, and in no way are offered to reflect any political viewpoint or opinion about any particular persons or people)

(whew...THAT ought to satisfy any Teutonic types out there who may think certain things "ain't funny"....can't say I don't learn from "history", huh?)

Yep! Just like a good Single Malt Scotch, you might call me "an acquired taste" TOO.(among the many OTHER things you may care to call me, of course)

Rumor has it that the Spitfire will be complimented by a version tuned for applications requiring more low end pulling power and a little less topend speed called the Hurricane.

Just the name Spitfire should keep those guys at BMW (if they remember their history) running for cover.

......BMW to buy Triumph

Rod,
This was taken out of context. What the report said was,
" Horst Köhler, the former head of the International Monetary Fund, was elected Germany's new president recently. He said he wanted to use the ceremonial post to make the country a 'land of ideas'. He set a perfect example by trading in his BMW to buy Triumph . "

Now, doesn't that make much more sense?

I guess I will have to learn how to balance a tractor tire, chickens, bag a cement and the family on the back of my old Honda CL90

They do it all the time in vietnam - The best I heard of was a farmer - his wife - and a full grown water buffalo on the back of a honda 125. The water Buffalo was expertly trussed up - so thats ok then
