Hey I found a good use for teenage girls.. wash the bike! After she got everything clean, I had her use the S100 Engine Brightener on the motor and passenger peg holders. That stuff is amazing. All the black stuff (finally) looks new again. Soren

The Pig Spit, available at the Harley Dealers, works well also. Both products make the black engine casings look deep black and "wet". The stuff lasts quite a long time also. Makes the bike look even better than brand new! The pig spit is a little less expensive than the S100 Brightner and they are both similar products (silicones). The S100 Total Cycle Cleaner is also great. Spray it on and then hose off. Great for all the nooks and crannies that collect road grime. Also the Engine Brightner/Pig Spit actually repel road grime making it easier to wash and clean and neither product collects dust! For anyone that hasn't tried the S100 or Pig Spit, you won't believe how much better it makes the blacked out parts look on the Triumph.

I use S100 Total Cycle Cleaner for the rest of the bike too. It works great, especially if you get the stuff in the spray can instead of the plastic spray bottle.

So how do you make black bright?
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

With a "Black light", of course.
A word to the wise is not necessary. It is the stupid ones who need the advice.

Mother's "back to black" i think is also silicone based. At least it seems to be, tho i didn't read the bottle. Also makes the engine look perfect. I also used it on various other black. It's easy to find too.......most any auto parts store. I tried it because someone at RAT said he'd tried all of them and said trust me and get the BTB. I did and whether it IS better i dunno cuz i haven't used PS or S100. But it does work great. I'd probably go with the cheapest of the 3 if they were all available w/o driving any distance. The BTB is $5-6 a bottle which should last me a couple years judging by how little you need.

i read on the rat forum to try s100 and maxima sc1 silicone... since a local harley guy suggested s100 to me, i looked for the maxima but could only find it online. i could not find the back to black either. i must not have looked hard enough. i ended up with some motul shine and go, 8 bucks a can. i haven't used it yet since i bought it... did put a little on the rear fender and it shined up pretty good, then i did the go part like it said on the can. beware you anti-froggy types though, it's made in france. which reminds me of a line from a guy clark song called picasso's mandolin. "born in spain, died in france, he wasn't afraid of baggy pants." motul shine and go maxima sc1 stuff cat

I've tried both S100 and Mother's Back-to-Black. BtB is much better but takes more work since it's more of a wax on, wax off kind of process. Most people can't believe how good my bike looks with 40,000 miles on it. I really noticed the difference between the 2 products when I cleaned the chain guard and swing arms. BtB makes those areas look like new.

On the way home tonight I stopped by the Triumph dealer and picked up Shine & Glo on the service manager's reccomendation. It works pretty good! $10 a can. Curiously, it smells something like lemon Pledge...
