If you've got the tools (I can't remember exactly what you need, but I don't recall there being anything out of the ordinary), an area to work in, and can follow a set of simple instructions I don't see why not.

Maybe you should do it yourself but have your dad available in case of any problems? You're welcome to bring your bike round to mine and do it here if you want. I don't pretend to be a mechanic but I can do the basics, and will help if you need me to.
