From the not-to-distant future:

"Canadian border farmers say it's not uncommon to see dozens of sociology professors, animal rights activists, and Unitarians crossing their fields at night. "I went out to milk the cows the other day, and there was a Hollywood producer huddled in the barn," said Manitoba farmer Red Greenfield, whose acreage borders North Dakota."

LOL.....funny as heck but true to a degree. Remember the outcry for the first week after the 04 National election? Liberals were clamoring for a place to go as they were so infuriated. All those bitter news bytes from noted liberal intellects as to the monstrous religious freaks in the red states.

I thought Maureen Dowd was going to suffer an apoplectic break down.

I think they were at least as angry then as some are now at Ann Coulters new book...."Godless ...The Church of Liberalism"

Ann makes money hand over foot selling her books and the more the left cry about the contents the more she sells.

That girl is one very intelligent , adaptive woman.

Actually , I would think that France would be the choice of many high level liberal mouthpieces. Either France or Montreal Canada.

That was one sweet victory. Hard won but sweet. To see the pure degree of disappointment on mike moores face alone was worth all the effort. If I remember he sequestered himself and did not come out of his hole for a couple of weeks. He even stopped work on his next work of fiction.

Turns out the smugglers are 1960's hippies who fled to Canada instead of being drafted for service in the "Vietnam Police Action". They also turned down President Carter's offer of amnesty and have finally embraced capitalism.

Too bad Alec Baldwin is not a man of his word

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

That's a great one. I also belong to the Ann Coulter forum (who'd a thunk it?) and posted it there too. They will love it too.

Kevin,
I wasn't gonna respond to this since I am an ultra conservative Democrat and have been hammered here for religious views (i am a Penecostal Jew of Scot/Irish/Cherokee decent). But when I see Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh lifted up, I am reminded of their only significant social purpose, "they remind us all of how stupid we could have been".
I remember seeing Ann Coulter becoming almost orgasmic when President Clinton was on the hot seat. I thought, "how easy she'd be in bed, just talk nasty about democrats and she'd reach complete satisfaction within a minute". Bill Clinton was our president and if she knew anything about scripture, she would have prayed for him. He was her leader as well as her enemy (aren't we supposed to pray for both?). I can assure you, she didn't.
She is like so many plastic Christians in the fact that she is vengeful, hateful, jealous and miserable. I know the Democratic party is wicked and misguided. But I can't change it from without.

You are most welcome to your views of course. I view the Ann Coulters , Rush Limbaughs of the world as necessary mouthpieces to offset an clearly left leaning MSM. They speak the truth often and in that regard they make those on the (especially) more extreme left a bit queesy. They do a fair job of offsetting the lies and twisted so called truths that emanate from C (BS) ABC , CNN (commie news net), and MSNBC.

Truth be told most liberals in the media have been extremely uncomfortable in the face of a growing popular media that tells both sides of the story with a decidedly right leaning outlook.....example given Fox, Hannity and Colmes, et al.

for many years you had the big three and that was it. All three had then as they do now a bias strongly against all things conservative whether it be religion or whatever.

I am well aware that there are religious liberals out there but I do believe they often do not realize their party of choice has been highjacked by the likes of Maureen Dowd and others of her ilk.

Heck , I have relatives in Iowa who are from farm country that has historically been stoutly democrat for decades. Even now they fail to see how the party they support is vacant in its support for the things they hold dear. (they are all staunch catholics)

They still think they are supporting the party of JFK or even Roosevelt. I view them as being in denial.

To each his own opine. I'll stay on the conservative side of the fence as long as it continues to be the best choice for American values, the defense thereof, and the party that is most tolerant of religious beliefs or a lack thereof altogther.

As it is the current mouth pieces who do most of the talking for the left/which is strongly identified with the democratic party spend most of their time making light of religion of any kind and presenting views of our military that are less than flattering.

Its ok to speak freely but many on the extreme left like congressman Murtha , John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi...and the amatuer hour mouth pieces like Cindy Sheehan, and Mike Moore clearly in my estimation cross the line into "sedition"

the liberal media dart has been thrown for years. in my view, the media is exactly the opposite, very facsist and right wing.

think back to pre-Iraq tough talk and the lack of logical questions the media posed to our Fearless Leaders, the chicken hawk fags who could not even bare a hang nail. i think the 7th circle wait for those sissy dandies.

FoxNews is about all I watch. Like I said, I am an ultra conservative democrat, but you must admit, our country has benn sold out - lock, stock & barrel. Ask W. I'd rather see a president lie about a hummer than lie about giving his country away for his own benefit.

Which American values would that be Kevin, the "Guest Worker" program agreed to by President Bush, Big Business and the Mexican Government, whereby Mexico is legally allowed to dump whomever it wants to on our country, so that Big Business, the primary contributor to the GOP, can continue subverting Middle Class America and outsourcing prodcution to Mexico and China while simultaneously trying to pull us down to their living standards? Sorry, Coulter and Rush are just as bad as the Michael Moores and Alec Baldwin, spewing hatred and self-righteousness that continues to divide, rather than unite this country. Gee, with Idealogues like that around, and BOTH parties kowtowing to their extreme bases, it's no wonder nothing productive comes out of Congress, whether Republican or Democratically dominated. If there is any delusion here Kevin, it is that you believe the GOP give 2 cents about what happens to you or the other millions who blindly support them on based upon their false leanings toward Christianity or moral virtue. It is as baseless as the Democrats pandering to the Unions on the guise that Union bosses give 2 cents about their memberships. If the GOP cares so much about you, how come they pretty much jumped into the camp on the side of the Illegals, with the exception of a few like Tancredo. As far as the constant whining about the "Liberal MSM", sorry, just a crock of bull. Are there left leaning journalists in the main stream media, sure, and guess what, there are right-leaning journalists. My father and grandfather are/were lifelong journalists, and both were straight ticket Republicans, in fact, my dad things W is a great President. My older brother, who works for the Missouri Senate Communications office as a reporter, is at the opposite end of the spectrum. I watch both Fox and CNN, as well as several overseas news organizations, and have yet to see anything at CNN that approaches the leanings of Sean Hannity. And yes, I have even watched the new guy, Glenn Beck, not much of a conservative, but he pretends to be one. Sorry if some of the stories that are negative about the administration displease you, but just because they don't jive with your feelings about the current administration doesn't automatically make them the spoutings of "Communist News Network" or whatever, any more than Sean Hannity saying anything makes that statement automatically true.

Ya know, it's kind of sad/funny, but all these years I have been hearing the Coulters and Limbaughs of the world crowing about how things were going to change, the world was going to be made right once the Dems were driven out of Congress, and the Right took over the ship. Well, I'm still waiting, but every time I turn on the tube, any channel, I'm hearing about more ineffectual leadership, scandals, wastes of taxpayer dollars, laws passed with no real enforcement or purpose (other than raising poll numbers at election time), and on and on. From my viewpoint here in the Middle, I don't see any difference, just a different shade of grey... Before, it was the Dems that were to blame for the failures of Congress, now that they are reduced to an ineffective bowl of quivering jello, it's the Liberal Mainstream Media who are keeping the GOP from leading this Nation to greatness. Sounds like a lot of excuse-making and scapegoating to my ears...

Well its just basic to me. I find the ole Republican party to espouse the BEST course of any kind of action period. They still far and away do the best job of protecting American values Bayern 710.

Both parties have their flaws but all things taken into consideration the worst of the Repubs still outweigh the options presented by any of the anti-American mouthpieces that the leftists put up to criticize the RIGHT.

Cindy Sheehan- a waste of DNA if there ever was. traitor, an embarrassement to her dead son and her husband (EX)...and a mouthpiece for the left.

Murtha- A wannabe war hero that embraces anti-American idealpogues and policies and a cut and run cowards mentality. Another waste of leftist DNA if there ever was.

So you see ..I could go on and on describing the traits inherent to the mouthpieces of the left that the Democratic party chooses to idenitify itself with and the obvious answer is that I have to be a Republican. No other choice without sacrificing honor to the altar of evil and value-less gluttony.

Sorry Bayern710. The differnces between the two parties are clear to me and the grey areas you speak of are not indicative enought to cause me to take pause and either vote nor give repsect to any of the high level wannabe class B Americans who would lead the Democrat party and the US. The better of two evils as you would surmise must be the conservatives agenda.

There is a difference between someone identifying themself with a party and a party choosing a person with which to identify itself.

As a former Democrat who became a Republican during the Carter administration I have reflected on what causes a person to choose a particular political affiliation. In my case I had to clearly define what I personally believed in. What were my own values and priorities. Then I took a close look at the viable political parties to see what their values and priorities were. Not just those expressed in platforms and speeches, but what did they actually pursue. It doesn’t mean much to express a position or claim a value when everything you do is contrary to that expression or claim. I then compared my positions to the two major parties and discovered that I agreed with the Republicans on about 90% of the issues where there was a difference between the two parties.

The dumbest thing I hear daily is “I vote for the person not the party.” While this may be useful in electing local officials and have some very limited validity in electing governors and presidents, it is profoundly wrong headed in legislative and congressional races. A vote for a purportedly conservative Democrat congressional candidate is a vote for Nancy Pelosi for Speaker and John Conyers for Judiciary Chairman. A vote for James Webb for US Senate is a vote for Harry Reid for Majority leader and Ted Kennedy for chair of whatever. If having Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, John Conyers, and Ted Kennedy run things in Congress is a good idea then vote for their party’s candidate. The reverse is also true. The liberal Republicans presence in Congress empowers the conservatives to the extent that it causes them to be the majority.

Just to give a strong example of why so many of us choose to side with the Republican entity.....

As we all know two of our brave young warriors were savagely brutalized/beheaded/mutilated and left booby trapped by subhuman al qweerda representatives in Iraq. They were not killed on the spot but captured and used as a political tool then murdered/beheaded et al.

last night on communist news network (CNN) Larry King and a sidekick interviewed in detail some of the relations of one of the dead soldiers. These two leftist buffoons tried as hard as they could to entice the family to say something negative about the Bush administration and or the government in general. Much to the honor and decency of the family they refused to be baited by these scoundrels from the left. Indeed when King said he had heard reports that an Uncle was speaking out and saying things highly critical of the government they were quick to say that individual was not speaking for them, for their dead son/brother and that his was NOT the voice of their family.

They comported themselves with honor and dignity and only praised their son and his sacrifice.

Indeed King and others from CNN seeemed visibly distressed that they were unable to get some comments to use for political purposes.

These are as I so often reiterate the mouthpieces in the main stream media who will stop at nothing to embarrass the military, the families and the government we all duly elected. They are the worst of us and deserve everlasting remembrance as what they are....."B Class sublevel Americana"

Honor must always be spoken too in this day and age. It is clear that the ideal of honor is not something embraced by the left nor its principle devotees in the media.

I applaud the families of the dead on their deportment and their refusal to allow themselves to be "cindy sheehanized"

OHHRAH.

I don't understand ehy "Big Business" would care one way or the other about the guest worker program. Why would they want to pay an illegal $3.50 an hour when they can get Chinese slave labour for about that much in a week?
If anything, I would expect "Big Business" to be against it because it could help "Small Business" survive.

Now, as for Democrat vs Republican. They both seem to have the same goal. I mean the philosophical goal, not the obvious power trip and get rich stuff. They only differ on the way to achieve it. Republicans feel that giving business a break will result in industrial growth. This in turn, will result in massive increases in job availability and people will be prosperous, working and productive and all will be well.
Democrats want to give cash to people. The idea is that they will spend it, industry will grow and start hireing and everyone will be prosperous.
In fact, business will continue with their offshore operations and people will keep buying cheap far east products. The end result either way will be government money thrown way and prosperity in some country that hates us.

It’s interesting that those to whom this country has given the least are usually the ones who comport themselves with the most honor and dignity. The mechanic, the farmer, the fireman, the steelworker and truck driver and their wives and families. They know that their sons are fighting for much more than is portrayed by the press. If their son dies they know it was with honor and for a cause that was worth the risk. That someday our country will look back at the sacrifices being made today in the same way we look at the sacrifices made in Europe and the Pacific during WWII.

Quite simple, you can't have Chinese slave labor doing all the cooking in the kitches of most large chain restaurants, or busing tables, or working construction on large construction sites. Chinese labor works just fine for exporting manufacturing jobs and technology jobs where it doesn't matter, but you have to have cheap labor to fill local jobs too. Yes, small business benefits too, but you can be sure it is such groups as the restaurant and tourism lobby groups that are pushing Congress to approve this blanket amnesty being called a "Guest Worker" program. Besides, Kevin, you completely ignore the fact that the biggest proponent of this Guest Worker crap is the present leader of the GOP, our President. Yeah McCain (whom I used to respect) has caved now and gotten inline with the Party doctrine, and well, that's what I expected from Kennedy, and the Tancredos are the minority in the GOP, most are just marching right behind W in the rush to make the Citizens of Mexico defacto Citizens of the United States. The Democrats are already in bed with that Lobby, that's no big surprise, but the GOP, whom everyone proclaims as the defender of Americas moral virtue, are right there alongside of them.

sorry Kevin, I was flicking between CNN and Fox this morning, and I didn't see any difference between the interviews with the family between the two. Perhaps you are reading more into it due to your open disdain for CNN. Or perhaps you are judging the entire CNN programming schedule by one show, just as if I judged all of Fox by the swill that comes on during the hour that Hannity and Colmes airs. Fortunately, so far, I am able to separate that one particular hour of garbage from the rest of the programming, and "regular" news reporting. I don't think you'll see any of this perceived liberal bias if you watch other programs such as Anderson Cooper, but then again, maybe you will...

Sorry Benny, that is one of those finer points that seems to be lost in this argument. Just like the garbage coming from Coulter or Hannity, whenever the "Left" or the Democrats are talked about, the name you hear is Micheal Moore or Alec Baldwin. And although Pelosi and Kennedy are the ones most frequently heard from, they don't speak for the great majority of the Dems. But, they are the big names and so get all the coverage.

As for Murtha, he never proclaimed himself a "hero", the United States Marine Corps did that when he was in Korea. I'm glad to see that you have enough experience know more than the Marine Corps, in that you feel justified to quesition not only his patriotism, but his war record? Just because he chooses to oppose the administration, and speak his mind, as is his Constitutional and God-Given right, I think it's pretty low to attack him personally for that. Feel free to argue against his policy or his ideas, but leave the personal snipes to the likes of Hannity, and Coulter, there are already enough snakes out there without adding more to the pit. Or are those two the epitome of the GOP values that you speak of? If those, and self-righteous hypocrisy are the values you speak of, keep them. Just learn to discuss them in Spanish or Mandarin...

Hey Clanrickarde,
Are you a veteran? Seems to me Murtha is a war hero. Don't agree with what he says but he damn sure earned the right to say anything he likes and it seems to get him re-elected every time he has run for office. I like what John McCain (My Man) did today on the steps of the capital in two seperate interviews on two seperate networks and yes FOX was one of them. He refuses to use the term "cut and run" believes in good honest debate not mean spirited debate. I had a used car salesman ask me what kinda car I was driving as I was looking at a F-150 for property work, I pointed to my Nissan. Now I feel sorry for this guy because I have been waiting years for this question. He ask me"What does Pearl Harbor mean to you and why you driving that rice burner" My response, "I spent 21 years in the Navy defending God and Country and I can drive any damn car I want" and then I ask him what branch of the service he served in. Did not serve.. college deferment during Nam seems our VP got five of those. damn I wish I could've gotten just one of those when my lottery number was pulled because I was the last person in Carter County Oklahoma to get drafted but joined the Navy instead of getting drafted into the army. ended up I loved it and spent 21 years in our yacht club, saw the world and they paid for all of my education. I am a republican and do believe we should not set a date for withdraw but s**t is pilling up at home and 2,500 dead is getting up there.

Very Respectfully....Mark

Don't know what your benefits are or what your situation is with retirement and job. I have been retired for 14 years now, I retired at age 39. I miss my friends. There is nothig like friends who stand back to back with you. You know and they know you each have one anothers lives in your hands. Big decision. If I were younger, I would go back in. No doubt. This civilian world is strange. But I know the people I served with and trained are still passing on the lessons I gave and received from those ahead of me. Big decision mate. Would you be up for promotion, do you still get time in rank or is that reset to zero. Did you get all the rank you wanted. Can you get promoted and then have a better retirement? Alot to weigh. Good Luck, God Speed and God Bless you. Mark

Yes , I am a veteran. and yes I despise liberal thought processes as they are espoused by the key leadership of the communist (sic) democrapic party.

Theirs is a policy of cowardice, submission and lies and deceit and a general disrespect for the old gaurd.

Murtha is a disgrace to the Marine Corps and a disgrace to our great nation. I hope, however unlikely it may be that his tired old senile keister is sent packing in November. He has lost all credibility with his fellows and there are veterans groups working to elect the fine young woman who is attempting to unseat him. She at least understands the concept of honor. Perhaps that yellow belly murtha is just senile. I dont know what his problem is but its time for him to go. I hope the people of PA see fit to come out and send his fat ole blubber guts yellow stripe and all back to retirement.

I am not completely up on his military service but if it is anything like john kerry's than I would suppose it to be largely a fabrication.

More and more, the Republican party is unable to discuss policy or ideas. They were very effective with character assasination during the last Presidential election and I believe it has become SOP for Republicans to resort to personal attacks (truth be dammed) to deflect criticism and opposition, and to avoid discussing important issues.
It will bite them in the arse. Then we can critcise and oppose the Democrats .

It never fails to amaze me just how accurate your sig is...

jin·go·ism, n.Extreme nationalism characterized especially by a belligerent foreign policy; chauvinistic patriotism.

chau·vin·ism, n.
1. Militant devotion to and glorification of one's country; fanatical patriotism.
2. Prejudiced belief in the superiority of one's own gender, group, or kind.

prej·u·dice, n.
1.
  • An adverse judgment or opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge or examination of the facts.
  • A preconceived preference or idea.

2. The act or state of holding unreasonable preconceived judgments or convictions. See synonyms at predilection.
3. Irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular group, race, or religion.

---

Sounds about right. I knew if I dug deep enough in the dictionary I'd find words like "irrational" and "hatred" eventually.

The dumbest thing I hear daily is “I vote for the person not the party.” While this may be useful in electing local officials and have some very limited validity in electing governors and presidents, it is profoundly wrong headed in legislative and congressional races.

I mostly agree with what you're saying there Larry. Minor difference, I think it has no validity on Presidential elections, as he is usually the head of the party, and in any respect is chosen by the party honchos.
And that shows the main problem with a two party system, when both parties are dominated by those on the fringes, they become more and more polarizing of the American people. Soon they are catering to the special interests that can afford to pay them the most, and generally ignore you and me.
Except to get our votes.
To do this they will lie, they will whine and they will play to emotions because sadly that is what works on people whose minds are already made up about certain issues. Many groups that have made one issue (almost always an emotional one) their litmus test are also the people most likely to vote in large numbers. So the parties pander to these voters, never intending any real action on the pet issues, just whoring for votes. Money is the real elector.
The greatest enemy of our country is an apathetic (or ignorant) electorate.
So, without any viable option other than the two diametrically opposed parties, yeah, you have to pick one and try to bring a little sanity to the process.

A Traitor's Tirade: Rep. John Murtha Soils The Corps (Gunny Bob)
Men's News Daily ^ | 17 November 2005 | Bob Newman ("Gunny Bob")

Posted on 11/17/2005 6:14:19 PM PST by Stultis

In a statement that has angered, embarrassed and humiliated Marines around the globe, one of our own -- a retired Marine Corps Reserve colonel -- has called for the legendary fighting force to retreat from Iraq and surrender to the terrorist organization that has killed thousands of Americans at home and abroad. He has even called for the United States to enter into negotiations with al Qaeda. This vermin’s demand for retreat, surrender and negotiations with the enemy is so committed to assisting al Qaeda in their efforts in Iraq that he has posted his unspeakable demands on his website in the form of an official statement.

The traitor, Democratic Rep. John P. Murtha, agrees 100% with Osama bin Laden and Abu Musab al Zarqawi that the Marine Corps, which is mangling the enemy on a daily basis in Iraq and suffering comparatively light casualties, should lay down its arms, call it quits, and abandon the people they are defending in the fledgling democracy of Iraq.

Furious Marines from wars as far back as World War II are spitting mad at the cowardly colonel and many want his head on a stake in the middle of the Marine Corps Commandant's lawn. Personally, I would not soil that good earth with so vile and despicable a piece of offal.

Encouraging retreat is viewed as aiding the enemy by the Marines and is a violation of Article 104 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which is punishable by death. Currently serving Marines, active duty or reserve, who encourage surrender are in violation of Article 100 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, an offense also punishable by death. Because Murtha is retired, he is virtually assured of not being prosecuted.

However, he will be celebrated by al Qaeda and other terrorists around the world. At this very moment, al Qaeda communications specialists are likely prepping pieces of propaganda using Murtha’s traitorous tirade as a tool to recruit fresh killers by showing them that even an American Marine (apologies to Puller) believes his allegedly beloved Corps is so inept in battle that retreat and surrender are the Marines’ best option and perhaps should, in fact, be added for the first time to the Leathernecks’ vast, quasi-mythical repertoire of operational art and battlefield strategy.

Murtha joins the likes of traitor Clayton Lonetree, the Marine security guard who gave top-secret intelligence to the Soviets, and traitor Robert Garwood, the Marine who went over to the enemy during the Vietnam War and was involved in holding and abusing US prisoners of war in North Vietnam while wearing the uniform of the enemy.

The Marine Corps is famous for its members standing their ground and winning fights against outrageous odds. Battles with names like the Peking Legation, Belleau Wood, Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Iwo Jima, the Chosin Reservoir, Khe Sanh and Fallujah decorate the hallowed halls of Corps history. Especially repugnant is how Murtha is insisting upon surrender while the Marines are decimating the enemy en masse.

Marines should ask Murtha if Chesty Puller would order retreat and surrender before the enemy.

John "The Jellyfish" Murtha should be shunned by all Marines and, if possible, legal steps should be taken to prevent this betrayer from being buried in a national cemetery upon his demise.

Bob Newman

Really? So the personal attacks on Bush were excusable but the ones on Kerry were not? Ann Coulter needs to be excoriated but Al Franken can say whatever he wants? Democrats are experts at political hardball, Republicans are just now beginning to play that game at anywhere close to their level. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid get on TV every single day and get nastier with Bush than Newt or Bob Dole ever did with Clinton. Michael Moore got a hero’s welcome at the 2004 Democrat national convention after releasing a rabid hate screed directed at Bush. As for ideas, what are the Democrats going to run on this year? Except for opposition to whatever George Bush or the Republicans in Congress propose they have no policies or ideas. Their only discernable policy is to stymie all legislative action and then blame the Republicans for getting nothing done.

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.

But seriously, all jokes aside (and I note this thread is entitled - somewhat speciously as it turns out - 'Humor'), how do you really feel about folks who don't agree with you?

"I live in Eastern PA, but so many of us out here support Diana but cannot vote for her. I've sent and will continue to send her links to everyone I know. Murtha must be removed as an anti-American mouthpiece of the left, at least as heinous as Kennedy. Irey is a Patriot, and they are in short supply behind that beltway. Go and Win!"
Sowden, Timothy D.
"Murtha's attempts to destroy the morale of the heroes fighting to keep my Wife and Sons alive and safe from the terrorist cowards for political gain must not stand."
Clarke, Kenneth G.

"Murtha is not worthy to stand in the shadow of America's brave sons and daughters in harm's way. The best way to send Murtha, and his ilk, a message is to not re-elect him. I pray that responsible citizens in his district would elect someone who cares about America and the true ideals she represents. May God bless America and those who love freedom."
Schlabach, Fritz

"God bless you Diana."
Lazzaretti, Jon A.

"Diana -- I applaud your political record. With God's Blessing you will send this disgrace to the Marine Corps OUT of Congress, where he can't tarnish the image of our country or the Marine Corps further. Your husband and kids should be very proud of you."
Kaczmarek, Henry M.

"John Murtha may be yesterday's hero to Americans but he's today's hero to our sworn enemies - the enemies who would destroy us. Whatever has happened to him, he should not be in the U.S. Congress."
Knight, Gordon W.

"John Murtha is an embarrassment to the uniform he once wore. Fifty years ago, he'd have been tried for treason for his actions and comments. Unfortunately, today we don't even know a traitor when we see one. To me, to have such a cancerous blight in Congress is unthinkable. I hope the people of Pennsylvania do the right thing and get the veteran turned traitor out of Congress!"
Willis, Dana N.

"Just add me to the list of former Marines who wish they lived in PA so they could vote for you. Also, add me to the list of former Marines who is completely ashamed of Murtha. Just because he served his country at one time doesn't give him carte blanche to denigrate our troops while serving in Congress. Having served is not a blanket pardon for anything he might do or say for the rest of his life."
Scaccia, Ron

"As a Marine Corps combat veteran I was proud to join Diana Irey on the platform as she called for Jack Murtha to publicly apologize for playing JAG, judge and jury regarding Haditha. Rep. Murtha's refusal to apologize and his incessant demeaning of our war effort aids and abets the terrorists trying to kill our troops... and us here at home. I don't live in Pennsylvania, but I will be working very hard from now to November to send that disgraceful EX-Marine into an early and embarassing retirement."
Eric Cooper

"I am appalled that a People's Representative would dare to side with the enemy by feeding their propaganda machine with slanderous comments about United States Marines. If there is a law, obscure as it might be that would allow for his arrest of breaking the morale of our military, it should be exercised. Perhaps if he witnessed due process first hand, he would not be so quick to convict them with hearsay. Since when did he gain the power to appoint himself a judge?"
Dunlap, Lawrence

"Best wishes for your successful candidacy. I am and always will be proud of my service in the Marine Corps and to our country. Thank you for standing up and taking to task, Congressman Murtha, who is, in my opinion, a traitorous and self-serving opportunist. I have checked out your other positions and am pleased that you are for strong, effective security at our borders."
Boggs, William M.

"I wish I could vote for you but I live in Michigan. You have my full support. Murtha must go. I can't believe a Marine (there are no ex-Marines) would talk the way he has. Its the Viet Nam syndrome. We can and will win this war. We won in Viet Nam but they pulled us out and South Viet Nam lost the war. YOU GO, GIRL!!!"
Bouchard, Denis A.

"As a US Army Veteran and Commander of American Legion Post 129 (Huntsville UT) I applaud your efforts to defeat "Cut and Run" coward Murtha. He is a disgrace to those who have died for the great cause of defeating terrorisim!"
Balek, Steven L.

"Everything I have read and seen tell's me Diana Irey will be a positive force in our currently troubled legislative body. I support her 100% and believe if you care about your country you will also!"
Richard, William T.

"I've known John Murtha since 1975 when I worked Congress for the Marine Corps as Legislative Liaison. He was a conceited, egotist then and he's an even bigger horse's ****** now. You have permission to quote me."
Lt. General Charles G. Cooper, USMC (Ret)

"Murtha's lost touch with Amreica. I'm just grateful someone like Diana Irey has the grit to take him on out in the open, not mud slinging, but with real dignity to challenge his politically motivated, extremely misguided, totally irresponsible comments about our Marines. I would not be so kind."
Blevins, David M.

"I applaud your efforts to stand up for America. Congressman Murtha's stance on the war and his utter disregard for the legal rights for Marines under investigation and his shameful expoitation of such incidents has proven him unfit to serve the people of this great Nation. God speed in your campaign."
Dunn, Richard C.

"I have no problem with someone disagreeing with the current policy President Bush is implementing. However, John Murtha has gone too far with his dangerously irresponsible remarks. He is well within his rights to critisize the President, but it is traitorous to denegrate the soldiers in the combat zone. To say that the American military "can not win this war" is aiding the enemy, and demoralizing to the troops. John Murtha needs to be punished for his anti-American position, and the best way (besides hanging) would be to vote him out of office!"
Fidler, Christopher A.

"Diana Irey, I wish you the best of luck in your campain to dump Jack Murtha this so called American. Murtha who calls himself a Marine is a disgrace to the American Military and especially to those who have made the supreme sacrifice. Most veterans who I have talked with would never support this guy ... who would stop at nothing to to Cut and Run before the job is complete and the victory is ours. If the morale is ever low for our troops it would be because of this guy Jack Murtha. God Bless you Diana Irey in your endeavors to DUMP Murtha, I also wish I could vote for you. Sincerely, a Military Veteran."
Woodrum, John L.

"God Bless you, Diana! Win this one, for all of us!!"
Elden P. Laffoon, Sr.

"God knows we ( Veterans) need someone with the intestinal fortitude to stand up for what is right not only for Veterans but for The Citizens of this Great Nation as well."
Fondo Dominick

"Diana -- God bless you in your efforts to return fiscal responsibility to government and to support our troops in the field as they go about the sweaty work of winning the war on terror. As you know, by waging this fight our brave troops are bringing freedom to the middle east and, in defeating terrorist abroad, are ensuring our safety here at home. After a steady diet of John Murtha, your voice is a very welcome breath of fresh air. I wish you success and victory in the upcoming election -- as we say in my home community of maritime patrol aviation, "good luck and good hunting.""
J. Scott Kelly

"I am mad as Hell that Murtha does not support the marines, while he supports groups that bash our troops and give aid and comfort to our enemies."
Pfanz, John, G.

"I talked with John Murtha in person right after the start of the war in Iraq - his position was sound and he honestly cared for our fellow Marines in the fray. Since then, he has become the best friend of Nancy Pelosi and has willingly become a pawn in her anti-Bush campaign. She has no plan. He has no plan, as evidenced by the House's resounding no vote for immediate withdrawal from Iraq (Murtha and Pelosi both voted against immediate withdrawal). As it turns out, Big John has a plan - he wants to be the House Majority Leader behind Pelosi's Speaker position (assuming a Democratic sweep in November). Power is his plan and he seems ambivalent in regards to lives destroyed (Kilo Marines) and a nation betrayed to achieve his goal. Diana Irey presents a perfect alternative to this choice - democracy in action. Let the peopele's voice be heard that we do not appreciate the selling out of our military and our country for personal gain."
Martelle, Craig H.

"As a retired Judge I am disgusted at the charge of "murdered in cold blood" before any formal charges are filed. Mr. Murtha has ventured beyond the pale. He needs to represent the interest of his contituents and not the leftwing of his political party."
Owens, Rodney P.

"Go Diana! Rep. Murtha has proven himself unworthy to lead. Has he never heard of honor, courage, and commitment? Those are the core Marine Corps values and he has foresaken us."
Kraus, Irwin F.

"Thank You for giving me a place where I can show my dislike for that self serving ... . He doesn't have to be behind our sons and daughters, but he should never ever help the enemy the way he has. Thank you again, I'm now going to donate the maximum amount allowable [to Diana Irey]."
Williams, Lloyd, L.

"I never supported a candidate from outside my state before, but I feel it is so vital to send Murtha packing I am going to support Irey, and I chalenge other veterans to do the same."
Glenn, David W.

"God Bless you Ms Irey. I'm very pleased to see America still has some Politicians with integrity who are willing to stand up to the likes of John Murtha and John Kerry. Thank you for standing up for our military personel, and may God Bless you in all your endeavors."
Scholten, Donald H. Sr.

"My hopes and prayers go out to Diana Irey...our country is in grave danger with the likes of Murtha and the rest of the leftists trying to destroy our military might."
Woller, Don H.

"God bless you Ms. Irey. You are a great American and we need you to win this race and get this scumbag and traitor out of office. He is not fit to serve even at the city level. He should be brought up on treason charges and removed from office... MANY of us are rooting for you. We love you."
Norman Kraatz

"Good luck Ms. Irey. True Americans all over this country are pulling for you and I suspect your district would be very hard pressed to find a better representative in the peoples' house. I would be proud to call you Congresswoman Irey. Pensylvania and America needs you. Never give up and when you go to sleep at night and things seem tough, know that not just vets but lots of other Americans are glad and appreciative you are willing to stand up and serve. Thanks"
David Turner

"I served our great country. One son also a Marine served during Desert Storm. My youngest son is in the Air force now in Rota Spain was in Iraq a year ago. We need politicians to stand behind our service Men & women. Inocent until proven guilty? Let only the politician who has no faults throw the stones, none would qualify! Thank you"
Roy

"My Marines are innocent until all the facts are in and they receive their day in court."
LtGen Don Elseroad (ret)

"Murtha must be stopped. I find it interesting that self-proclaimed heroes like Murtha and Kerry refuse to release their military records."
Jackson M. Robbins

"evil can prevail only when good people refuse to speak out"
Marshall Larriviere

"As a U.S. Marine Gulf War and Somalia veteran, I stand behind anyone that will stand up to the likes of John Murtha. As a Marine himself, he should be ashamed of what he has accused our Marine brothers of doing. I consider him nothing less than a traitor of my beloved Marine Corps. Semper Fidelis"
Charles D. Watterson III

"I'd be honored to be included with my fellow Vets4Irey. Murtha is a disgrace to all of us who have taken the oath to honor and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all powers, foreign and domestic. For us, the oath has no expiration date."
David J. Jersild

"Donated to Irey campaign via her website. We've got to get rid of Murtha!"
Davis, Norman E.

"There are many of us behind you. Word is spreading fast. Murtha is going down! Best Regards,"
Page, William B.

"Murtha is a disgrace to everyone who has ever worn the uniform. He has chosen to disregard the honor of those who serve, and ingnore the presumption of innocence of fellow Marines in exchange for the media spotlight. He is endangering our military personel by emboldening the enemy."

"Congressman Murtha must be defeated for his failure to show resolve over the war in Iraq. I was released from active duty on the day that he made his statements that created such a stir last fall. It left a very sour taste in my mouth after two tours of duty. I stand behind Diana Irey."
Strickland, Ralph W.

"My wife and I are both retired seniors (she being 100% disabled) and on fixed incomes. I made a small donation to Ms. Irey's campaign. I expected to recieve a thank you in a form letter but I also got a personal phone call from her. Very gracious lady and one I hope and pray that can defeat Murtha. Traitor is still a word in my vocabulary. I will continue to support Ms Irey by encouraging my friends to also make a contribution. YOU GO GIRL----- GET R DUN!!!!!!"
Lawrence, William B.

"Thank you Diana, for speaking out for our troops."
McHatton, Max C.

"I have already contributed, and am doing my best to make sure everyone I know sends what they can, no matter how small it seems."
Morel, Robert L.

"We need leaders with the character and foresight of years ago to lead the public in support of our soldiers during wartime. Murtha has lost his way and is dishonoring our country and the men and women who serve her under arms. Its time for a change!"
Kevin Burke

"As a fomer Viet Nam Vet, I am disgusted by the lack of respect this country shows toward our military. I am thrilled that Diana Irey has come forth on our behalf and I will support her in any way I can."
James E. Dolezal

"I support Irey because it is high time someone stands up for the American Fighting Men and Women. It is high time someone stand up for America and what is right, Thank You"
Macy Harvey L.

"I support you 100%. I have a son who is currently in the 160th SOAR and is very proud to be there. I will not let the likes of Jack Murtha and J F Kerry denigrate out troops as they did during VietNam. If there is anything I can do to help your campaign, please let me know!"
Hinch, Edward L.

"Thank GOD for people like you. I'm for you all the way. GOD BLESS"
Randy Mills

"I am a Vietnam veteran and the father of a soldier. My son has just return from Iraq ( Thank God). John Murtha's irresponsible comments are killing our troops. He should know better. He is the poster boy of all terrorist who know his name well. He has the blood of American soldiers on his hands. Its time to show him the power of the American veteran."
McDevitt, Gerald

"Having served in Kuwait-Iraq. know quite well our mission there. It was an honor to serve there. Although I`m here in Mass., Diana Irey has my full support. I applaud her for challenging Murtha. Best of luck !!!"
Thomas A. Giorgio

"I only wish I resided in Pennsylvania so I could vote for Diana Irey and against Congressman Murtha who appears to have gone senile in his old age."
Mercer, Ronne G

"I was a PA Resident and voted in the 20th District, now the 12th District for all my life until I retired from the Army in 2004 and settled in MD. I regret I cannot vote for Diane Irey but I am going to help in other ways like passing the word and sending her a campaign donation."
Livingstone, Joseph A. Jr.

"Excellent choice to defeat John Murtha. Good luck and may God bless you and America."
Frizzell,Ralph E.

"Watched the Diana Irey video and am 100 percent behind her."
Faunce, Robert L.

Not only is she right, she's cute too

We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
