Are the downpipes a smaller diameter on a TBA? I measured mine at 1 7/8" OD (2003 speedmaster)and I can't seem to find anything that fits. I'm looking for a slip-on 12" to 15".

Anything that is meant to slip onto a 1 3/4" exhaust/header will work..... oh, and welcome Brian!

So instead of slipping over the headpipe like stock, it goes inside? How does it attach, drilling the headpipe for screws? And thanks for the welcome. I've had the bike for 2 weeks and, like any cruiser, I have about a hundred ideas for modifying it.

Brian, I have the Whitney 19" pipes on my America. They are the same size diameter and just slip on and clamp the same as the original pipes. They are LOUD! Ride Safe EZ

Just arrived today, 16" JCWhitney shorty mufflers with the 2" tapered end. Slipped on just fine, I guess measurements taken at 3am are less than accurate. And the sound, ohh baby! Sounds like a motorcycle instead of a sewing machine. Not too loud, just loud enough. Now I have only 99 ideas for
modifying it. Ditch the airbox, individual K&N's, jet, remove AI, 2 ticket lawyers on speed dial,arrgh,arrgh. I'll keep you posted.

Don't forget the nobby tires, makes it easier to go offroad around the roadblocks.

I'm thinking about getting rid of my 19" turnouts...I love the way they sound and are great for around town, but I'm half deaf for 2 days after a long cruise. I'm considering the Scepter or D&D pipes

Those short pipes do they need to be supported or do they just clamp on and your good to go ??

The 16's come with a bracket if you want, but I didn't use it. Instead I clamped them about as hard as you would a car
lugnut, then I double-nutted it using the nut for that bracket. About 300 miles since then, no probs so far. Sorry to take so long to reply.
