Not sure of the cheapest place to get them, but I love the way mine sound. I've heard them side by side with Epco's, and there is no comparison in my opinion. I guess it's more about what you're looking for though. The D&D's are LOUD (second only to Sceptres) when you get on them, but can be quiet when you need them to be. They have more of a low brap brap, whereas the Epco's are more of a vroom vroom kind of thing. I can't comment on any of the other brands.

Ditto what Graz said. Just today when I cranked up leaving the bank, an admirer in car next to me said "Wow, it sounds like a Harley". That was at idle of course but I let him hear it wind in 2nd,3rd as I went away. Had Scepters at first but too loud for me. The slash cut made the reverb off pvmt. literally give me headaches on 20 min. + rides.Love the D&Ds. Bob.

My packing burned to rock hard at about 2500 miles & the pipes go WAY TOO LOUD and the tone was just all wrong... At cruising speed I couldn't hear my self think.
Now I have repacked them with Vance & Hines "Quite Baffle" packing and have a much better sound than they were new. Nice, deep tone now & plenty of noise when you want it.
The V&H packing is what should have been in this pipe to begin with, especially when considering the price. It is significantly better quality than the stock packing.
