To All, I have just finished the design and production of a new Rack and sissybar combo for speedmasters and Americas and am now offering it for sale. I was never quite taken with the Triumph version because I think the rack sits up too high on the bike. Besides, if you want both the sissybar and the rack, it gets quite pricy. you can see the rack at my website www.extremesportsandhobbies.com(I hope this link works, this is the first time I've tried this. If not just type it in your browser) As a special offer to BA.com members, mention you are a member when you order and I will give you $30.00 off the price. Price shown on the website does include shipping to the 48 states. Thanks, Vance

That looks pretty darn good. I like it.
Do you have any pics of it with the touring seat? What is the height to the bottom of the backrest? Is the luggage rack bigger than the Triumph luggage rack?

On the second page of my website I have pics of it with the stock Triumph America Pillion seat. I don't have a touring seat so I don't have any pics. Hopefully someone with a touring seat will buy one and send me a pic.
I also don't have a triumph rack so I don't know if the rack is bigger or not. The rack goes all the way from the rear seat bolt to the top of the license plate so maybe you can compare for yourself if you have a Triumph rack.
I'll measure the sissybar height tonight. (Overall its 15" high above the rack).

Right Now, it only comes in black powdercoat.
I am also working on a version in "Chrome" powdercoat. Which is not chrome plated but a very shiny silver powdercoat which should match the silver paint on Americas nicely. Will post pics when it is done (about two weeks).

Brent, You could always have them chromed. That is, if Vance will produce them minus powder coat.

Sniff, Sniff. You guys will see, the "chrome" powdercoat is going to be cool! I'm going to get them back from the powdercoater this week. When I post pictures, you'll change your tune. Vance

Vance, you don't have to tell me anything - I'm a certifiable chromophobe. I am also familiar with 'chrome' powdercoating- it looks good and hold up well - especially on car wheels where standard chrome won't make it thru a chicago winter or two.

Well, here are the pics of the silver powdercoated rack, hot off the press. What do you guys think? Does it make the grade or is it back to the drawing board? Vance

Looks darn good Vance, but I think I'll stay with the black, when I get around to it, Speedmaster, y'know

I'm surprised. The silver powder coat looks pretty good, but it would be the black for me.

I like that set-up. Both the black and the silver look great.
Is the luggage rack the same size as the Triumph luggage rack?

One thing Vance / Brent, is there something you can come up with to cover up that empty spot on the back of the seat pad?? That's the only visual miscue that I can come up with in my humble opinion. Maybe some chrome doo-dad with a bike logo of somekind?

Actually, I agree with you. Especially on the silver rack (it doesn't seem to be so noticeable on the black version), there is a huge blank shiny surface that stares at you when you look at the backrest from the rear. Maybe Brents got something. I was also going to take a ride to my local dealer this weekend to see if there is some cool Triumph decal to put there.

Hey, thanks for the consideration! At some point after I've swallowed $2600 worth of engine mods, I'll be happy to be doing biz with you two.

Added a black plastic cover plate to the back of the backrest. I think it looks better. Vance

Would this set up work with just a solo seat? I wouldn't mind back support on long rides. And just my two cents worth... I really like the chrome powdercoat on the speedie,,, seems to flow with the chrome fender supports.... great job!!!

Thanks for the compliment. The rack and backrest would work with a solo seat but I'm afraid that the backrest would be too far back for you to lean on. If you were going on a trip and attached a big bag to the front of the backrest, you could lean against that.

What about the same thing made of square stock, like the Triumph one? I just think it would look better, I don't like the look of the thin metal. Do you have the ability to bend 1/2" square stock?
Women and cats will do as they please. Men and dogs should just get used to that fact and relax

No, I don't really have the ability to bend 1/2" square stock. I think that would probably take a hydraulic press.

I bought one from Brent. It´s just that the mounting holes on the side don´t fit so I have to do some metal work to get it installed (15 minutes with regular tools, yeah right??). Otherwise it looks nice, just that it doesn´t look to be too high of quality. Too bad, do have to think twice from now on before ordering from Brent. Edit; okey, with a round file I made the holes a bit bigger and everything work fine.
