I have been thinking about gettting a sissybar for my '05 speedmaster and can't decide whether to get the sissy bar and rack or just the sissy bar by itself. Any pics of a speedmaster with either would be much appreciated. Second what is the cheapest anybody has seen either of them?

If you're buying the sissy bar for rear rider comfort, definitely get the tall sissy bar. I would also get the rack as well because of all the cool luggage from T-Bags and others that will sit on the rack and easily attach to the sissy bar. I posted a pic of my bike with a new windshield under this section (NEW Clearview SS available). It has the tall sissy bar/rack and would look the same on a Speedmaster.

Speedmaster with touring seat and short sissy bar/rack:

Just replaced the touring seat with a corbin solo and pillion pad, but don't have pictures yet

Cheers,
Brad

Definitely get the sissy bar with the luggage rack. In my opinion, it just doesnt look right otherwise.

Brad's photos helped convince me to get the sissy bar (short) with the rack. It seems to flow with the bike and either the standard or touring seat.
My wife really appreciates it and the rack will be very useful for luggage.
Good luck!

Thanks for all the help guys, I got trumped on the short sissybar, the wife wanted the tall one, so I guess it's that or nothing.

The short one LOOKS better, but the tall one's a better sissybar from a pillion's point of view. It's also better if you want to put things like T bags on.

VDanger's sissy bar was very cool especially in black for the Speedy. In my opinion it would look better with a little bit more rake to the angle of the backrest. A nice alternative though!

FYI I ordered mine through Coweta Custom Cycles in Newnan GA and their prices and service are excellent!

Joe, you did the right thing. There IS a major difference in comfort for the rear passenger. My wife rides with me about 50% of the time. She tried both and nixed the short one. In the long run you'll be glad with the better luggage and bag options. Personally, I think it looks as good - especially with a pillion pad.
