I have the floor boards on my 2005 America. My dealer will be installing the heel toe shifter. Can any one tell me if this combination works well

I tried it recently on the Rocket Classic but not our bikes. You should get used to it quite quickly.
Normally you change gear without thinking about it but I found myself thinking about 'am I pushing with my toe or heel?' for the first 10 minutes of riding.
It should soon come to you.
I got quite used to it actually but already knew the price of the kit over here for our bikes and knew I wouldn't be getting it. Too expensive for what it is over here.
Good luck

They're actually designed to be used together. I've not used the heel-toe (on our bikes - had one years ago on my first bike) but would love to have a go on someone else's before buying one for myself given the price.
There's been some complaints that people can't adequately fit their boot between the heel & toe ends. Some people have modified them, most notibly by cutting the hell section shorter and bending it out slightly.
Oh, it stops the toe of your left shoe getting all marked up by the gearchange too.. if you're silly enough to wear dressy boots on the bike.
Hope that helps
Matt

I’ve used the heal toe shifter with the floorboards for a while now. Took some time to get used to it but wouldn’t be without it now.

Can you use boards without the heel toe shifter?

I have the floorboards too. I'm in the process of planning to switch from heel & toe back to stock shifter. Do I need any hardware (like a linkage change?) besides a shifter swap to make it work?

Just swap it out, no linkage change or anything else needed...

Mert was looking for a heel-toe shifter a while back. Don't know if she ever aquired one...she might still be interested.
I made myself learn to use mine, and would not be without it. May do the boards one day, but that is further down the priority list.

hey Keith...i'm impressed that you remember i was looking for a shifter. i did get a second one. it is modified so there is room to hang the heel of your boot off the back of the board or just plain foot your whole darn foot on there; if you have big feet.
i am extremely happy with the H/T shifter. even before i had the modified shifter i really liked using it; as opposed to the stock shifter.
Chuck, just make certain you keep the stock shifter. just in case you don't care for the H/T you can always switch back.
