I'm real tempted, Sonny. It's either that, or a Flyscreen. I rode to Livingston and back today, to see my Dad. It's 80+ miles one way up Hwy 59. Feet back on the passenger pegs, right hand on the throttle, left hand on the tank, clocking 80-90 on my speedo all the way there, depending on the speed limit.

What concerns me isn't so much buffeting around my head as much as buffeting of the steering head - especially around 18 wheelers. Having never been behind a screen before, I'm a little leery of anything that is going to act as a "sail" on the front of the bike - especially at 90 mph.

I'm really leaning towards the flyscreen, though I know it does little for keeping the air off my chest or arms. A friend with a great deal of experience is recommending the Slipstreamer Spitfire - maybe similar in size to the Summer Screen, or the Clearview replacement, but in my opinion, the Triumph and Clearview parts are of better quality and look better, too.

So, it's $300+ for a quality screen offering decent protection and forcing a change in riding style? Or $120 for the National Cycle Flyscreen that I know won't dictate how I ride. (Everybody's opinion matters here, guys and girls!)

By the way, it rained on me all the way home this afternoon, and I was laughing all the way. Still riding 80-90 when I could, but also stuck behind slow traffic because the rain was so intense at times, too. The Metzlers are GREAT! (And so is the SHOEI RF1000 helmet.)

These aren't the fastest bikes on two wheels, but way fun when riding on the edge of legal limits (9 miles over limit is my legal limit - usually - most of the time ). Would a Summer Screen sized shield affect the way I ride?
