Is attaching the footboards for the America pretty much straight-forward? What will I need to watch out for? I read the directions and it said stuff about the master cylinder, etc,. I don't want any bad surprises!!

I didn't have the directions when I put mine on, I think it was pretty straightforward. Nothing to worry about with the master cylinder - it swaps onto the new mounting bracket with 2 bolts. Just make sure you have the right size tools before beginning.

I found the job to be pretty straight forward. Keep in mind you can adjust the distance of the shifter to the board to accomdate your boot size by removing the shifter from it's rear spindle (take it all the way off) and turn it a notch or two.

I found the large "bolt" holding the mounting bracket on the brake side was a bit of a problem getting loose. Nothing that my 2 pound sledge couldn't handle.

Regards,

Tom

No.. this will change the leverage on the gear shift and make shifts difficult. Alter the shifter position by altering how far the ends are screwed onto the shifter linkage.

took me a bugger of a long time including trips to the hardware store for an allen wrench socket for my torque wrench.

but that's just me...

Yes. Sorry to disagree, but I have no leverage problems and shifting is easy.

Adjusting the shifter pedal up or down should be first attempted by backing off the locknucks on the shifter rod and then turning the rod until the desired gap is achieved. It operates similar to a turnbuckle and there's a lot of adjustment there...
