The other day I went down kinda softly. This curve that I have traveled at least one hundred times is more than 200 degrees and is super elevated. I do this curve at 30 mph in second or third gear. Anyway, I approached it to hot for the extreme line that I took. The lean angle was well over 45 degrees because of the super elevation. I hit my left peg so hard that it bounced my foot off. I corrected a little and hit fresh centerline paint and slid a little requiring another correction which made me head for the ditch and cliff wall. I got it stopped just in time but, somehow dropped her on her right side and on my right ankle. I ended up with one helleva bruise on my left ankle and leg from the bounce and hobbling on the right sore one. The next day I was riding to the job in the dark and my heat sheild on the right silencer fell off and was runover by a car. I hate to even ask what a replacement will cost along with the little rubber thingies that hold them on. So Grip, I think the lean angle can be much more than 45 degrees if the curve is supered and is limited only to how much scrape you can handle. The tires don't let go.
