A quick question for you older BA folks. This ties in to all the Thailand final assembly production talk that's out there.

What is the the llth (eleventh) character of your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN)?

The NHTSA requirements (international ISO standard since 1981) defines this character as the "plant of manufacture", but appears to leave the choice of that character up to the manufacturer.

The first 3 characters are the World Manufacturing Identifier (WMI) where the first character is the country of origin. 'S' = Great Britain and 'M' = Thailand.

Just curious on what the older bike VIN reflects in the 11th place.

My '05 BA is a 'J'.

Thanks,

Tom
