The dealer wanted almost $70 for that tiny wiring harness that connects directly to the tach and the light. I can't get myself to pay that for just that tiny clump of wires. I found a connector that would fit the tach itself at a hobby store for about $2.50 and a light that will work for about $2.00. The color codes don't match but that won't matter once the connectors are made up. 
We all like to think of ourselves as rugged individualists. But when push comes to shove most of us are sheep who do what we are told. Worst of all, a lot of us become unpaid agents of whoever is controlling the agenda by enforcing the current dogma on the few rugged individualists who actually exist.
