You guys rock! Thank you for the help. I did get the tach installed. The light is much brighter than the speedo. I found some single connectors at an auto parts store (5 per box) so I can unplug it again if I want to move it around or remove it.
I notice that the light does not come on if the kill switch is off (the headlight, console warning lights, and speedo are all still lit). Is that right?
I rigged it to my handle bars with an old windshield clamp, but I am open to ideas that look better...
