However, I'm not as confident about the value on our bikes due to the steep angle of the shield. The lip seems to be most effective on sport bikes or sport touring bikes with small shields/fairings that angle sharply back toward the rider.

Hi,

I've riden along and tried to feel the wind with my fingers. I have lowers fitted and there is very little comming up from around the tank. The main problem seems to be turbulent air from the top of the screen. If I relax my fingers and hold them just above the top of the shield they bobble about in the wind.

My understanding of the laminar lip is that it accelerates the air in the slot. As this comes out of the top of the slot it is going faster and smother than the air that is currently making my fingers bobble. So it forces that air a bit higher and hope fully over the top of my head. I think I can also fit the lip so it makes the screen an inch or so higher which may just be enough anyway.

I think I'll give one a go and hope the wife doesn't look too closely at my credit card bill

Best wishes

Sid
