Unless I installed my Kuryakyn ISO grip wrong, I can still use the O-ring method. The o-ring I found to work the best is a 44mm x 3.5 mm - this is from the set of 400+ o-rings that I have that have all sorts of different sizes.
Of course, I haven't tried this on the road yet, but it seems to work...
