Has anyone used one of those green light trigger magnet things? Do they actually work? If so, which ones work the best?

I got stuck for a few extra minutes at lunch today and waited until a car came up behind me to trigger the left turn signal.

If you're so inclined, tear open a trashed hard drive and recover the magnet. Hard drive magnets are plenty strong enough to trip the ferrous/mag sensors buried at intersections. Secure it under your bike with a dollop of JB Weld or a cable tie and you're good to go.

Cheers

Hi Soren,
I bought one on ebay for ~ $10 last October. Yes, they work at most lights. There are several intersections around town where it never works.
Just do what Haywire says. That will be just as good. At work we use magnetic particle separators in our production flow. Next time we replace the rare earth magnet elements which are 1" diameter and 8" long, I am going to attach one near my exhaust crossover. My only worry with that is I'll turn all 4 lights green.
But to answer your question, yes they do work (most of the time).
So, how are you enjoying your new ride??? Weather cooperating?
Take Care,
Dennis

Cool! I have several of those laying around (nice to be working in the I.S. Dept.), I'll give it a go.

I absolutely LOVE it!! After not riding in 15 years or so, its taking a little bit to regain the feel and confidence. I am definitely not pushing my limits, just getting more compfortable with every ride. It is definitely the most comfortable bike I have ever owned.

Not at the moment. But, it seems like buying a new bike is worse than washing the car. I have been able to get a couple good days of riding in. In the last two weeks I have only been able to ride to work three days. And now (of course its a weekend without any kids) it will be raining hard the next five days.
