It's a little thing, but is driving me nuts. When I was a youngster, I had a Velocette, and then a Triumph. One of those had a brass number plate and a pointer on the right side of the gearbox to tell you what gear you were in (bloody awkward to see when riding!) but I can't remember which. Anyone have one or remember which it was?
