I started this message string and do wish to thank you all for your input.

My 136 miles on my very first full "I-filled-it" tank seems about average based on the above reports.

Once I get fully use to this transmission and she has over 500 miles I guess I might be looking at maybe 145 mpt.

For now I'll begin looking for a refill starting at about 115~120 miles per tank.

Again, my Thanks!

The first time I switched to reserve (also the last) it was at about 120 miles. The bike was till under 500 miles then.
Now its at a touch over 2000 miles and I can get 140 out of it and usually stop to refil before I hit the reserve (that really wasnt cool).

I go 150 miles to reserve, if I take it easy even with the bride aboard. As soon as I switch to reserve, I stop and add 3.2 gallons of 89 octane. Hitting it hard around town- about 120-130 miles per tank.
I am not stock.

Depends on the riding, but most often I'm over 140 miles before reserve, and when traveling I often refill with over 175 showing on the trip meter. Even then, I rarely get 4 gallons into the tank, so I feel I could probably get 200 miles out of one, but have not pushed it that far.

And we don't know slow. I flog the crap out of her everywhere we go.

Bone stock except for air box drilled and one shim on each carb needle. AI removed, but that should be of no consequence. 89 octane like the owner's manual says, and rarely ever anything but SHELL gas.

I get 120 miles per tank; 40 miles per gallon. I have a windshield, saddlebags, and use ethanol in my gas, and have the standard 17/43 TBA sprockets. As well as the type of driving, it seems 4 things affect this:
1) engine/carb mods
2) wind resistance (windshield & saddlebags & speed)
3) gearing
4) ethanol

2004 BA, specialty spares long cannons, unifilter / mod'd airbox, 130 mains and 45 pilots, 89 octane, 12K miles on original bridgestones (between 32 and 35 PSI in each), usually 150 to reserve. sometimes ~140, once I got 162.

almost exclusively commuter miles on 66 HOV / Tyson's corner traffic (HOV really helps in this town - yeah, right!).
