Can anyone tell me if these are good pipes? He has sold several sets of these on Ebay and apparently charges a "core charge", whatever that is. Is he modifying stock pipes? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Triumph-B...1QQcmdZViewItem

There has been much talk about these. I believe he is modifying the stock pipes and reselling them. That is why he wants your old pipes. There is a sound clip on you can hear, but I think anything he does you can do yourself. Just my opinion.
Oh man!! I'm going to jail!!

Yes you can : Modifying your stock pipes

I did not want to do my own so I bought some from him and shipped mine to him. I have to say I love the sound. On first trip out had a Hardly pull up next to me and asked me if they were stock. I told him only on the outside, then I thought to myself. I love riding my TBA and watching the "other" brand riders turn and look. That was a very good day. Bottom line, if you don't want to hassle w/them it is worth buying from him. BTW once you send your pipes to him he refunds your core charge,

I have not re-jetted yet still have stock. I have some popping on decel so it looks like i will have to do some tweaking. Probably go with 130 or 132 according to Pat's calculator. Right now I am just enjoying them. As for cops...have had no problems at all but then again I try not to draw attention to myself when they are around.

I have gotten used to the popping and kinda enjoy it. Sends all the kids and strays running as I come down the street. I don't know if it would cause long term harm or not? Drive it for a while and see if you need to re-jet. First time I started her up just totally made my day, I love the sound.

A small amount of popping, ever so slightly is OK. A really loud crack type of popping is very bad. These bikes run very lean from the factory and most exhaust modifications will require re-jetting and fuel mixure adjustments.

Popping is not a problem unless it is the mazda rotary sort that blasts the muffler off the bike or shoots its innards through the grill of the copcar behind you.

I made mod's to my snorkle and UNI filter and shimmed the carbs and I am burning just fine (plug chop test) didn't have to do the jets. Dealer confirmed it was good twice now.

I went and picked them up yesterday. Very good transaction with the seller. What he has is pipes that people return and he modifies. He only leaves in 2 plates. One is towards the front of the exhaust and the other is just behind the hanger. Then he drills holes in those plates. 2 holes is his normal deal. There is also the stock hole which is the small aprx 1" tube that is in the plates. So a total of three holes (1 stock 2 drilled). I rode his 03 TBA and I wanted a little more noise so he kindley drilled a 3rd hole in the plates for me. He did tell me I may have to re-jet with the 3rd hole. I put them on (sealed with high temp rtv $3.00 walmart) and waited my 24 hours drying time ARGhhhhhh. I just got back from my ride. I got 2 blocks away. Sounds great. Feels great. I stoped at the corner, Smoke was roaring out my pipes. I freaked. My brand new bike. What the F? Then 2 seconds past and my brain woke up. The oil in the pipes! You know; to make the drilling easier. Duhh. Oh yeah, I gotta burn that out. Whew I do have alot more getup now. It does do a little poping on decel and I did one time while reving to downshift, feel a little puff under my bootie. So I am now seeing what I have to do. I just ordered some 132 mains from Brent, but they won't be here untill tuesday I imagine. Looks like I will have to re-jet. I'm wondering though if I should re-adjust the mixture first??? What do y'all think? I do have to go in for my 500 mile service later this week. I imagine they will "tweak" me then. Nice pipes though. They are fine for me and cost a whole lot less too.

Will he cut BA.com a deal? It has to be easier selling direct to this community than piecemeal on ebay. If you got his email address I will ask for us. Dill

Someone has a pair of "bone stock" America pipes on ebay for $350.00. They have no end date and been on there for months. I sent him a note telling him to drop the price if he wanted them to sell. He wrote back and basically told me to mind my own business. Retailers are clogging up ebay.

Dang it, I don't get E-Bay here at work (blockpage), How much for these pipes? Sounds like the way to go, but I'm afraid of bluing my pipes. Would'nt have a clue as to how to adjust mixture on this bike without a Dyno....I do have a carb synchronizer if this would do it...my biggest thing is messing up my new bike....it backfires a little anyway and it's totally stock. I was idling through a parking lot and she backfired and killed the engine, that to me was hilarious, she started right back up. She definitely needs to be a little "throatier".....Dinquas process looks WAY too complicated for me....

Ok here's what I got going on.
Like I said, I had him drill an extra hole in the plates. 06 TBA AI's removed, stock jets. I removed the snorkels and have my mixture set at 2 3/4 turns. This was 1/2 turn more than the factory setting. I have no popping on decel and the pipes continue to get louder. they sound great. After doing this I am very glad that I did not spend twice as much for the Epcos I was gonna get (hint hint). He thought I may have to re-jet, but I don't need to. I plan on re-jetting to 132's if I cut open my airbox. I don't even know if I'm going to. The performance has been increased 10 fold. I had a feeling that this bike could do more than the factory settings. I would not hessitate to buy these pipes. I think that the way he normally does it with 2 holes drilled was a little to quite for me. The extra hole put it right where it needs to be. I almost wanted another hole but It is getting louder every mile. I think it will top off in another 500 miles or so.

These pipes look ok, I like the stock cone look better(FWIW). IF you go to the audio link you can hear the pipes he's selling. They do sound pretty good. But I would rather do this mod myself. "My bike, my tools, my way, if you kow what I mean.

Bought some of these pipes, they are modified stock ones. Sound good but tend to burble on deceleration, not sure how to fix that , perhaps re jet ?
